President Bola Ahmad Tinubu has approved Dr. Ibrahim Bello Bashir’s appointment as substantive Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, Yobe State.

According to a statement by the Register Muazu Aliyu Iliyasu office, which was made available to newsmen in Damaturu, the Yobe state Capital.

The Registrar said the appointment of the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, Yobe State, for a single tenure of five years with effect from 4 February 2025, in line with the Federal Polytechnic (Amendment) Act, 2019.

He said in a letter conveying his appointment dated 4 February 2025, endorsed by Dr Nasir Sani Gwarzo mni, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, charged him with responsibility for matters relating to Polytechnic Management and operations.

It was gathered that Dr Ibrahim Bashir Bello, until his appointment, had been a staff member of Kaduna Polytechnic since 1996, and he held many positions, including Head of the Department of Environmental Science, Director of the College of Environmental Studies, and Director of Academic Planning.

“In light of the above, I would like the entire Polytechnic Community to give him the maximum support for the growth and development of the Institution. Once again, I wish to congratulate the Rector on his deserved appointment and wish him a successful tenure in office,” the appointment letter reads.

The sad event occurred Yesterday Wednesday, 26th June, 2019 after a protracted illness. Meanwhile, the Management has declared today Thursday, 27th June, 2019 a Work-Free day to commemorate with his death. May his soul rest in peace and may Almighty Allah grant his family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
