🌊WHAT IF THE NEXT GREAT LEADER OF THE CREEKS IS A CHILD WAITING FOR AN OPPORTUNITY? 🌊

What if the child who will one day change Burutu is sitting quietly in a classroom today? What if the next lawyer, doctor, engineer, professor, entrepreneur, public servant or community leader is already there, but all they need is someone to believe in them?

That is why BUFLEC 2026 must happen.

✍🏽 BURUTU FUTURE LEADERS ESSAY COMPETITION

Theme: “THE CREEK OF MY DREAM”

BUFLEC is an educational initiative designed to give the children of Burutu a platform to dream, think, write, compete and be heard. Across the eight clans of Burutu LGA, young students will have the opportunity to participate, with representatives emerging to compete at the grand finale in Burutu Community. And at the end, one clan will lift the prestigious:

👑 THE CREEK CROWN

But the real prize is bigger than a trophy. The real prize is opportunity. The real prize is confidence. The real prize is discovering a young mind that may otherwise remain unnoticed. The real prize is telling a Creek child: “Your voice matters. Your dream matters. Your future matters.” This is where we need you.

BUFLEC cannot be built by one person, one organisation or one committee alone. It will take a community. We are calling on individuals, philanthropists, foundations, corporate organisations, community leaders, political leaders, professionals, sons and daughters of Burutu, friends of the Creek and everyone who believes in the transformative power of education to stand with us. Your contribution does not have to be enormous. Sometimes, one person's contribution provides a book, another provides transportation, another supports a prize and another gives a child the confidence to believe that there is a place for their voice in the future of Burutu.

When these little acts of support come together, they create something much bigger.

As Nigeria celebrates 65 years of independence, the apex student body in Burutu Local Government area, National Association of Burutu Local Government Students (NABLOGS), in conjunction with the Office of Miss Tuomo-Ebe, is set to mark the occasion with a special Independence Day Celebration Outreach in Tuomo Kingdom.

The celebration is designed to bring together students, young people, parents, and members of the community in a meaningful celebration of nationhood, culture, education, and youth development.

THEME:
“TAPESTRY OF TUOMO-EBE CULTURE: Unity and Development through Sustainable Education”

The programme will also celebrate “Nationhood and Our Heritage,” highlighting the importance of preserving the rich cultural identity of Tuomo-Ebe while promoting education as a foundation for sustainable community development.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE PROGRAMME
The event will feature a range of activities and youth-focused interventions, including:

Beyond the celebration, the outreach seeks to create awareness among young people on issues that affect their education, personal development, health, choices, and future opportunities.

Through this initiative, NABLOGS and the Office of Miss Tuomo-Ebe reaffirm their commitment to investing in young people and creating platforms where culture, education, responsible citizenship, and community development can thrive together.

NABLOGS CELEBRATES DR. DENNIS BRUTU OTUARO ON HIS BIRTH ANNIVERSARY

The National Association of Burutu Local Government Students (NABLOGS), the apex student body representing the interests of students of Burutu Local Government Area across the nation, warmly celebrates the Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro, on the occasion of his birth anniversary.

Today is more than a celebration of another year added to your life; it is an opportunity to celebrate the remarkable impact of your service, leadership and commitment to the people of the Niger Delta.

Since assuming leadership of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, your efforts have continued to demonstrate the transformative possibilities of purposeful leadership. Through the programmes and opportunities provided under the Presidential Amnesty Programme, many young people across the Niger Delta, particularly the creek children, have gained access to education, skills development and opportunities to pursue their aspirations both within Nigeria and beyond.
