SARS: THE PESTILENCE THAT STRIKES IN DARKNESS AND THE DISTRUCTION THAT AWAITS AT NOON DAY.

In 1992 the unprofessionlism of the Nigerian Police Force led to the murder of Colonel Ridam of the Nigerian Army.

The events that would follow after that murder led to the formation of the Special Anti Robbery Squad Aka SARS. Tasked with the duty of stopping dangerous robberies in Lagos State, SARS for a few years carried out their duties with so much effectiveness such that within a few months sanity returned to Lagos State.

But like everything that has to do with Nigeria SARS grew to no longer fight robberies but intimidate, maim and terrorize young Nigerians under the guise of fighting internet fraud.
For the avoidance of doubt, SARS is not tasked with fighting financial fraud of any sort and as such the argument that they are needed to check "yahoo yahoo" is nothing but ignorant and stupid.

The conduct of SARS over the years has led to the murder of at least 100 young Nigerians and this cannot continue.
Our demand is simple and concise ;
1. and then carry out a total Reform of the Police institution.
2. An independent panel should be instituted to investigate the NUMEROUS reported and unreported killings of young Nigerians extrajudicially by SARS and the entire NPF and all Officers indicted by this panel should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
3. The President following the disbandment of SARS must immediately fire the Inspector General of Police and begin reforms.
4. Reform the Nigerian Police Force COMPLETELY!!

Already the youth have to deal with a nation that has been crippled by the corrupt elites and we say enough is enough!!!
Remember if you're silent in the face of injustice and oppression then you have chosen to side with the oppressors and make no mistake about it, evil has the capacity to go round and whether you like it or not will someday knock on your door.

It is in our collective interest to join this protests going on around the country and the world and sustain it until our demands are met.
We no longer want to lose our brothers, sisters, friends, colleagues to the hands of the police.
We also do not want our parents to bury their children any longer.

AT THE END LET YOUR VOTE COUNT, EVEN THOUGH YOUR FAVORED CANDIDATE DOES NOT WIN, YOU ARE REST ASSURED THAT YOUR VOTE COUNTED. GET YOUR PVC IT IS IN YOUR INTEREST, IT IS YOUR RIGHT, IT IS AN OBLIGATION YOU OWE YOUR COMMUNITY AND YOUR CHILDREN YET UNBORN. DO NOT BE PUSHED AROUND BY THE FEW, GET INTO THE THICK OF THE ACTION, FIGHT FOR WHAT IS YOURS. WE CAN BE BETTER IF WE THEY PEOPLE DECIDE AND NOT IF 'THEM THE PEOPLE' DECIDE.

YOUNG and RESPONSIBLE…
At a young age I always wanted to know what was expected of me, what part I was to play in every situation and at every given time. The love for responsibility and service made me love parenting because to me nothing was/is more satisfying than contributing to the growth of people. This should be the case for every young person…unfortunately it’s not. WHAT WENT WRONG?
I’ve asked myself over and over and over again but it seems the more I ask, the more confused and hurt I get. We have become so self-absorbed in our own selfish interest that we care for nothing else but ourselves, our fathers and mothers may or may not have given us the best parenting but is that the problem? Sure the family is the basic unit and holds a major stake in what our lives would turn out to be, but the lions cub does not need the Lion to teach it to roar; It learns to roar as the need for it arises. Why have the youths become so VOICELESS even our silence means nothing, we spend more time on the internet doing things that add no value to our very own existence. The impolitic ones are now the ones concerned about the state of things because they are seen as people who just want to waste time on “what they can’t change”, we have lost that sense of responsibility (we can’t even take responsibility for our actions), the principles that defined the labors of heroes past (hard work, togetherness, dignity, honor, integrity honesty etc.) are nowhere to be found today. WHAT WENT WRONG?
We are very quick to throw blames and give excuses on why we should continue with the life of laxity we have chosen, the state of the nation and the situation of the society has become the ultimate excuse. Deep inside, our hearts yearn for a better society but we are not yet ready to grow up to our responsibility and WORK . My father made a wise statement and I quote “people enjoy freedom gotten by others” and I saw a light in that, we know we have a major part to play in proffering solutions to the problems that have risen in this time but nobody is ready to take the bold step of confronting this challenges that are posing a serious threat to the our future because we have not learnt the priceless virtue of RESPONSIBILITY and SACRIFICE. Responsibility is not a function of the position you hold or your age, it is a function of the understanding that there is a problem and I can’t just keep quiet and fold my arms even if the odds are against me, it is a function of the understanding that you are YOUNG and RESPONSIBLE.
With a broken and disappointed heart, with a tearful eyes I make a sincere appeal to my fellow youths in Nigeria and in the world at large to WAKE UP from the sleep of death that has so entangled us. Become more concerned about the things happening around you and look for the part you have to play and PLAY it WELL with all sense of RESPONSIBILITY.
Come now let us rebuild together what is left of our country,
Come now let us restore the Ancient Landmark,
Arise and let us fight this wave of of irresponsibility that has so far succeeded in crippling our nations,
Say to yourself;
I am RESPONSIBLE for the welfare of my brother, my neighbor, my sister
I am RESPONSIBLE for the growth of my COUNTRY,
I have a role to play in the GROWTH of my nation,
I am a RESPONSIBLE YOUTH!!
