I' Sen. Douye Diri is very passionate about the infrastructural and human capital development of our dear state, I recently noticed that the standard of living and getting a nice home at affordable prize has become a problem in our dear state. I've therefore come up with a developmental plan in the area of housing, where government will partner with citizens to build world class housing units of about ten thousand(10,000)flats, in our capital city, Which will equally cut across all the eight(8) LGA's. I believe with this plan, citizens can get an apartment at a very low cost, which will drastically reduce the cost of getting a home by 60%.
My fellow Bayelsans, support and vote for me Sen. Douye Diri, your humble servant, who is only concern and passionate about the development, growth and betterment of our state.

Senator Douye Diri has been in the House of Representatives and the Senate and possesses all the qualities required to steer the affairs of the state. We believe that having that experience behind us, having the convention of some rotation within various local governments that make up Bayelsa Central Senatorial District, we believe that he has the capacity, the experience, the network, to move to the State House.
The work of the legislator as you know is not like the work of the executive to bring in infrastructure, works, roads and all that. That's not the work of a legislator. The work of a legislator is to be a voice of your people on the floor of the House. Prior to his election into the house, the voice of his people was not heard at the house. His emergence as a honourable and senator has changed the status quo. He has been an effective representative of the constituency in the House and he has achieved quite a lot.
In the history of the representation of this constituency, nobody has moved even up to five motions. For those who stayed up to one term, even two terms. Within three years, he had 19 motions and three bills. That's the height of his achievement. He has done a lot of constituency projects, we have solar light. It is there in the wards. He has also helped initiate solar light across his constituency, solar water, examples are in Azikoro and Tombia. Also through the state government, he has tried to initiate road project at Kaiama, the headquarters of Kolokuma/Opokuma local government.
SDD has also assisted students where they could not pay school fees especially in Niger Delta University. He has tried to discharge his responsibilities to the best of his ability.

Our Very Governor.

Hon. Douye began his career in the teaching profession and taught in several Government Schools in the Rural Area in the Old Rivers State. After leaving the education section, he moved to politics. He was appointed the First National Organizing Secretary of the Ijaw National Congress (INC), the foremost organization of the Ijaw Nation. He was also appointed Executive Secretary, Centre for Youth Development in Bayelsa State from 2000 to 2002 during the tenure of the First Executive Governor of Bayelsa state, Chief D.S.P. Alamieyeseigha. He was later appointed as Commissioner for Youth and Sports 2005/2006 during Dr. Goodluck Jonathan’s administration in Bayelsa State. He became governing Council Board member university of Maiduguri from 2008-2012.

Hon. Douye was appointed Chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) Disciplinary Council, Bayelsa State in 2012. He was appointed Deputy Chief of Staff, Government House from August 2012 and a year later was appointed as Principal Executive Secretary, a position he held until he signed in 2014 to contest for the Federal House of Representatives to represent kolokuma, Opokuma, and Yenagoa Federal Constituency. He won the election in 2015. And Currently a sanetor of the federal Republic of Nigeria. His legislative interests are in environment and communications.
