Bayelsa Due Process DG, Forum Secretary, Joins State Procurement Heads on Courtesy Visit to Federal BPP DG

The Director-General of the Bayelsa State Due Process Bureau and newly inaugurated Secretary of the Forum of States Director-General of PPA/BPP, on Wednesday 9th September 2026, joined the Forum’s Chairman, Mr. Ehimoni Jagun Ibiyomi, Director-General of the Kogi State Bureau of Public Procurement, and other state procurement regulatory heads on a courtesy visit to the Director-General of the Federal Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), Dr. Adebowale A. Adedokun, in Abuja.

The engagement focused on deepening Federal–State collaboration in public procurement, with discussions around regulatory reforms, capacity development, digital procurement, technical assistance and the exchange of best practices.

The visit also formally introduced the Forum’s newly constituted leadership to the Federal BPP and underscored its commitment to a more coordinated national procurement framework anchored on professionalism, transparency, accountability, efficiency and value for money.

Responding, Dr. Adedokun called for stronger synergy between federal and state procurement institutions, noting that public procurement extends beyond the Federal Government to the states. He commended the Forum for achieving its long-standing objective of formal inauguration and proposed the establishment of a technical team to develop practical areas of collaboration and advance shared goals.

Bayelsa Due Process DG Inaugurated as Pioneer
Secretary of Forum of State Procurement Agencies

The Director-General of the Bayelsa State Due Process Bureau (BSDPB), Mr. Aaron N. Timiye, was earlier today inaugurated as the pioneer Secretary of the Forum of States Directors-General of Bureau of Public Procurement and Public Procurement Agencies at the Nigerian Governors’ Forum Secretariat in Abuja.

The inauguration was conducted by the Director-General of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Dr. (Alhaji) Abdulateef O.T. Sh*ttu, in the presence of the Director-General of the Bureau of Public Procurement, Dr. Adebowale A. Adedokun.

Mr. Timiye was accompanied by the Director, Human Resources, BSDPB, Mr. Tari Ofongo.

Other members of the executive are Barr. Ehimoni Jagun Ibiyomi, DG, BPP Kogi (Chairman); Engr. Sanusi A. Yero (FNSE), DG, PPA Kaduna (Vice-Chairman, Administration); Mr. Onafowote Fatai, DG, PPA Lagos (Vice-Chairman, Finance); Muhammed Kabeer, DG, BPP Gombe (Treasurer/Financial Secretary); and Chief Clifford Kelechi, DG, BPP Imo State, alongside representatives of the six geopolitical zones.

The forum provides an institutional platform for state procurement authorities to strengthen coordination, share expertise and advance consistent standards in public procurement across Nigeria.

The appointment places the Bayelsa State Due Process Bureau at the forefront of efforts to deepen inter-state collaboration and strengthen procurement governance in the country.

OUTREACH VISIT TO DESTINY CHILDREN’S HOME, AZIKORO.
The Due Process Bureau Chapel carried out an outreach visit to Destiny Children’s Home, Azikoro on Friday, 31st July, 2026. The items presented to the home were donated from the proceeds of the Mid-Year Thanksgiving Service. The Chapel sincerely appreciates God, and the Director General, for granting the opportunity and support to serve humanity through this charitable gesture.
