BYMEDA/NG-CARES ORGANISES TRAINING FOR STAFF
The management of the BYMEDA/NG-CARES organised a two-day training on file management to equip staff for effective service delivery on the NG-CARES project and their official duties.
The training which dwelt on the dynamics of file management such as Electronic File Management; File and Filing Process, and File Safe Keeping was held at the Bayelsa State Tech Hub Training Hall, Transparency Plaza along Ox-bow Lake Road in Yenagoa.
Speaking, the Director General of the Bayelsa State Microfinance and Enterprise Development, Dr. Embeleakpo Apere, noted that the training was aimed at mitigating the anomalies associated with file management and also enhance staff productivity.
He advised staff to take advantage of the training to learn the novel and improve what they know.
On his part, the Project Manager, Bayelsa NG-CARES, Mr. David Agonodi pointed out that the training would not only be relevant to participants in their present official assignments but also in the future and therefore advised them to take the training seriously.
Experts in the field, Mr. Odusi Asieri, Mr. Yeri Bekeboh and Mr. Temple I. Mondebo delivered the lectures.

NIGERIA AT 62 AND BAYELSA 26
The Chairman, Board of Directors, Hon. Godson Mark Torukuru, the Director General, Dr. Embeleakpo Apere, the Secretary, Hon. Admission into Africa SME Hall of Fame: Ambassador Jankee decorates Gov. Diri
The President of All Africa Association for Small and Medium Enterprises (AAASME) and Current Mauritius Ambassador to Russia, H.E,Amb(Prof.) Chandan Kheswer Jankee, has officially decorated the Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, with his award.
The Governor was recently admitted into the Africa Small and Medium Entreprises (SME) Hall of Fame for his contribution to the growth of SMEs in the State.
The recognition was made at the first African Union Small and Medium Enterprises (AUSME) annual forum held in Cairo, the Egyptian capital with participants drawn from different African countries.
The AUSME President had promised to visit Yenagoa to officially perform the ceremony, hence his current visit to the Bayelsa State capital.

BYMEDA NG-CARES RA3 LAUNCHES COMMAND CENTRE, TRAIN STAFF ON OPERATION
In a bid to enhance efficiency in the delivery of BYMEDA NG-CARES RA3 project, a well equipped Command Centre was set up at the BYMEDA NG-CARES RA3 office and launched yesterday following its completion.
The Centre provides a platform for the management of all data including applicants/application, payments details and other information regarding the Nigeria Covid19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (BYS NG-CARES) scheme initiated by World Bank in conjunction with the State Government to give grants to businesses that were adversely impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
The launching also saw the training of staff on the dynamics of how to man and operate the centre and its facilities.
Speaking, the Director General of the Bayelsa State Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency (BYMEDA), Dr. (Barr.) Embeleakpo Apere, commended Bank of Industry (BOI) for a job well-done and the timely delivery of the command centre project, adding that, the act has reaffirmed the Bank as a trustworthy institutions.
He urged management and staff to put the centre into good use.

BYMEDA DG CALLS FOR PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP ON SME DEVELOPMENT
Multinationals and other corporate organizations operating in Nigeria have been called upon to join force with government in accelerating sustainable and inclusive growth and development of Agri-business and other aspects of SMEs in the country.
The Director General, Bayelsa State Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency, Dr. (Barr.) Embeleakpo Apere made the call during the opening ceremony of the Agri-business Development and Empowerment Programme (ADE) organized by the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) at Secretariat Annex 5 in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state Capital.
Dr. Apere noted that Agriculture is a substantial contributor to local, state and national economies with capacity to exert positive rippling economic effect on other sectors, adding that, for agriculture to be more impactful must be viewed as a business.
The DG noted that, the ADP was in line with the prosperity policy directive of the Governor Douye Diri-led government which tilts towards exploring all aspects of agriculture and its value-chain alongside other areas to bring prosperity to Bayelsans.
The BYMEDA Boss explained further that the Bayelsa State Microfinance Enterprise Development Agency (BYMEDA) was established by the State Government to support, encourage and develop micro, small and medium enterprises in all sectors including, Agriculture, and therefore assures of the agency’s readiness to partner organization with similar vision.
While commending SMEDAN for organizing the Agri-business Development and Empowerment programme, he pointed out that, it will help unleash and enforce agricultural transformation in Nigeria by providing support, knowledge and skill upgrading for the development and empowerment of start-ups and existing agribusiness as well as create a more efficient value chain through agricultural cooperative societies and associations.
The Director General who was represented by the Director, Human Resource Management, Mr. Temple Mondebo, therefore, urged participants to take advantage of the programme to better their lots as well as contribute to the socio-economic development of the State and Nigeria at large.
Earlier, the Director General, SMEDAN, Mr. Olawale Fasanya, said the programme (ADEP) is designed to provide functional knowledge, networking/linkages and skills upgrade to start-ups and existing cooperative societies/commodity associations in order to actualize agricultural transformation in Nigeria.
He noted that ADEP which would empower at least 150 youths and women in Bayelsa State, comprised sensitization/awareness creation, agripreneurship training and machinery support to the beneficiaries.
Also present were: the Commissioner for Labour, Employment and Productivity, Hon. Stanley Braboke, the Commissioner for Trade, Industry and Investment, Hon. Federal Otokito, the Rector, Institute of Entrepreneurship and Vocational Training, Mr. Edwin Zuobomudor among others.

BYMEDA HONOURS DG, DR. (BARR.) EMBELEAKPO APERE ON HIS CALL TO THE NIGERIAN BAR
Management and staff of the Bayelsa Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency (BYMEDA) organized a welcome-back event in honour of the Director General, Dr. Embeleakpo Apere following his return from Abuja where he was admitted into the Nigerian BAR.
Speaking during the event, the Chairman, Board of Directors, Hon. Godson Torukuru, said Dr. Embeleakpo Apere has distinguished himself in many fields through hardwork and diligence which also accounts for his recent achievement, noting that his appointment as DG was ordained by God to bring blessing to the state through the agency and its subsidiaries.
The Chairman who said his achievements were worth celebrating, added that he was happy to associate with him and prayed God to move the agency to greater heights through him.
Speaking also, the Secretary of the Agency, Hon. Prezigha Fafi, said the successes of BYMEDA have attracted consistent development under his benevolence and quality leadership, which according to him has elevated its leaders to positions of prominence.
Describing Dr. Embeleakpo as an erudite, pragmatic and humble man, he noted that his call to BAR has brought honour to the agency and positioned it as a stepping stone to all who aspire to impact society positively.
The Secretary who congratulated the DG, said the whole of BYMEDA was proud of his many achievements, particularly his admission into the league of learned men.
In their separate goodwill messages, the Project Manager, BYMEDA NG-CARES, Mr. David Agonodi, the Board Directors, Hon. Ayebaemi Ikelemo, Hon. Nimis Samuel, and Hon. Akoso Napoleon and the HRM, Mr. Temple Mondebo described the DG as a team player and a focused man with flare for excellence, noting that his leadership has brought purposefulness and enhanced their knowledge in their official duties.
Responding, the Director General who said the welcome party came as a surprise to him, appreciated the Chairman, Board of Directors, the Secretary, management and staff for the show of love and support throughout the period.

Be Patient!

You must understand it takes years to build up a business and as an entrepreneur, you can't possibly expect immediate results in most situations.
