Your Excellences,
Distinguished Party Leaders, the good people of Ogbia Kingdom,
Members of the press, My faithful followers,
Distinguished ladies and gentlemen.

I have received series of calls by different groups and from the good people of Ogbia, urging me to contest for the Chairmanship position in the forth coming Local Government Elections.

The people have spoken and their voices has been heard resoundingly for the past few Months.
As it is said, the voice of the people is the voice of God. Before I make my intention known, let me bring this to your notice.

When I came onboard as Caretaker Chairman, I saw great challenges bedeviling the people of Ogbia which ranges from insecurity to infrastructural decay.
In this past three months as Caretaker Chairman, we have been able to address the security challenges in Ogbia particularly Ogbia main town through the formation of the Ogbia Town Vigilante funded by the Local Government to provide support to the men of the police force.
Ogbia Town is the center of unity to every Ogbia man. If there is problem in Ogbia Town that means there is problem all over Ogbia Kingdom.

If Ogbia Town is well developed that means, development will creep in to every other communities.

In this short period as Caretaker Chairman, we have started little by the reconstruction of some sections of the famous Ogbia Town(Okilo) Market.

Sporting activities is one thing that fosters unity among people and we have been able to sponsor our indigenous football club to participate in the ongoing tournament in the state.

My administration have ensured that workers welfare is of utmost priority that is why workers salaries are promptly paid.

We have engaged over 50 Youths as political appointees in my administration. This serve as a preparatory ground to groom them politically as leaders of tommorow and give them platform to discover their potentials.

We must resume the march to break the yoke of ignorance that keeps our people down; liberate them from ill-health and other limitations that restrain them from achieving their potentials; and break the stranglehold of poverty which keeps people from living full creative lives.

If the good people of Ogbia have seen all these and decided to call upon me to contest for the Chairmanship then it is a call that should be heed to.

As a practicing Christian and a strong believer, having sought the face of God in prayers, knowing that power comes from God, I have decided to heed to the calls.

I Hon. Ebinyo Marvin Turner declare to Contest for the Chairmanship Position Ogbia L.G.A. in the forthcoming Local Government Elections.

So help me God

KOLGA SPEAKERSHIP, HIT OR MISS

The battle is fought and won. The dream achieved. You have been soaring high right from the first day you ventured into politics till date. You have been classified as the epitome of success. Kudos to you on your latest feat. But can we also say kudos to the Kolokuma/ Opokuma people for having their first speaker since the creation of the state? On the short run, the answer is YES, but will the answer still remain YES on the long run? What will change the answer from YES to NO on the long run? And what is at stake.
The Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Govt Area is among the 8LGAs of Bayelsa state and is situated in the Central Senatorial District along with two mighty LGAs, SILGA and YELGA. Despite the fact that KOLGA people were very instrumental with regards to the creation of Bayelsa state (e.g people like Isaac Boro and Dan Etete), They have nevertheless produced any key positions in Bayelsa politics due to their small voting strength. And their dream has always been to produce the number one man of the state. Timi Alaibe has fired several shots on that post, but to no avail. Pamoh Dudefa was about to fire his own shot but fate moved against him in 2015. 2019 seems to be the year God sets aside for KOLGA. They have produced their first senator, in Person of Sen. Douye Diri. They have now produced their first Speaker of the house, in person of hon. Tonye E. Isenah. Now, can they still produce their first governor come November/ December in the same 2019?

The Governor's Puzzle.
PDP is a party that believes in rotation of key posts. For that they have established a zoning system that will prevent one sector of their political domain to always hold on to key posts at the detriment of others. Little wonder all the three Senatorial Districts have produced a governor, starting with the Central District, to Beyelsa East and finally to West. At this point, any of the three Senatorial Districts can produce the next governor but for fairness and equity sake, the West will likely not to produce the next governor haven just recently completed an historical 8yrs rule. The battle is now left for between the Central and East Senatorial Districts. From the signals, the Central is likely to win the race haven thrown into the battle men like Timi Alaibe, Emmanuel Paulker et al. For fairness and equity sake, KOLGA ought to produce the next governor due to the fact that they are now the only LGA who has neither tasted the governorship post nor deputy post in among the 8LGAs.
Governors
SILGA : D.S.P. Alamieyeseigha
OGBIA: G.E. Jonathan
BRASS: T. Sylva
SALGA: H.S. Dickson

Deputy Governors
EKEREMOR: Peremobowei Ebebi
YELGA: Werinipre Seibarugu
NEMBE: John Jonah.
KOLGA: ?

Since KOLGA are the only ones left to enjoy that post, it would have been nice if the rest give KOLGA a sympathy votes to enable them enjoy what ought to be their turn come 2019, the kind of sympathy votes the northeners gave to Gooldluck Jonathan in 2011 general elections. But they now have the speaker of the house, should they still be given a sympathy vote to help them become a governor of the state again? That has now posed a difficult question to other Bayelsans. The odds against KOLGA producing the next governor has soared up drastically, with the recent feat of Tonye Isenah emerging as the speaker of BSHA. Though Kolgans are happy that they have recorded one success in Bayelsa politics, but could this Speakership not be a Greek gift for KOLGA people in order to deny them of the governorship position? If it happens to be so, KOLGA will not be too happy about it. But they said, "a bird at hand is better than two (or even three) in the bush". But then "patience is a virtue". Would they have hit the jackpot assuming they waited a little bit longer?
The Speakership is a hit for now ( short run), but KOLGA should pray it should still be a hit in time to come (long run)
