The outgoing Permanent Secretary, Arc. Ere Efeke, handing over to the incoming Permanent Secretary, Dr Omietimi Kojo Ebi, on 22/2/21. In the Presence of the Director and HODs of the Ministry.
Arc. Ere Efeke who is now the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Labour, Employment and Productivity, thanked all Staff of the Ministry for cooperation and the modest achievements during his stay and called on them to accord the new Permanent Secretary more cooperation, loyalty and dedication.

The Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Transport, Grace Ayakpo Ekiotenne, has directed that all fares on the Tombia-Amassoma route should revert to the Pre COVID-19 amounts of N200 (Two hundred naira) only for buses and N300 (Three hundred naira) only for Taxis immediately, pending discussions with the Transport Unions, Transporters and Niger Delta University officials.
This is sequel to complains by NDU students and the general public on the high fares being charged on the route.
The Honourable Commissioner has therefore invited the Transport Unions, Transporters plying the route and NDU officials to a meeting on Monday 8th February 2021 by 2pm to resolve the issue and arrive at acceptable fares.
She called on the NDU students to exercise restraint as Government is on top of the situation and ready to resolve the issue to the satisfaction of all parties.

The use of the Pavilion, Oxbow Lake, Yenagoa as a Transport Jetty has been banned.
This is contained in a Statement by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transport, Arc. Ere Efeke, on Monday 25/1/21.
He informed the general public especially Government Officials and VIPs that the ban was imposed by the Hon. Commissioner, Grace Ayakpo Ekiotenne, following observations that the recreational facility has been turned into a Transport Terminal .
She advised all travelers (official or private) to use the Government Jetty at the Ministry of Transport yard, Marine Base, Yenagoa and stop the incessant harassment of the Gatemen at the Pavilion.
She also directed the Gatemen at the Pavilion to enforce all the rules recently approved and pasted at the gate for the smooth running of the Pavilion and called on Families to come with their children to the Pavilion for relaxation and the boat ride as the peace and tranquillity of the Pavilion has been restored.

The tenant who hired 3 shops in the Pavilion at Oxbow Lake, Yenagoa and did some mural and extended his activities to the driveway by adding chairs tables and flowers etc, has been directed after a stakeholders meeting on Monday with the Hon Commissioner of Transport, to Repaint the inside, corridors and pillars back to the original Pavilion Color; and also clear the driveway of all tables, chairs, tyres, flowers and other obstructions.
You will recall that the Hon. Commissioner directed the immediate shutting down of the shops after an unscheduled visit to the Pavilion and on sighting the “Reggae Paintings” on the walls.
The Pavilion is now wearing a new look of decency and serenity, after the enforcement of the following new rules:
1. No smoking of Ci******es
2. No smoking of Indian H**p
3. No sales/ use of Hard Drugs
4. No indecent dressing
5. No use of the Pavilion jetty as a transport Terminal.
6. No use of the Pavilion as an indefinite car parking yard.
7. No intimidation of the gatemen by those who claim to be “high Government Officials” and Militants.
8. The closing time fixed for 6pm and all customers are expected to leave the Pavilion by 6pm and the gate shut till 6am.
The Gatemen are on top of the situation and have been given strict directives to enforce the above rules by the Hon. Commissioner.
Families with their children are invited to come back to the Pavilion and enjoy the scenery and the Cruise Boat as the place has been restored back to it’s s earlier status.

ALL arrangements have been made to make the Pavilion at Oxbow Lake Yenagoa fit for Children and all the Family.
The Cruise Boat will be there from 2pm to 6pm.
Opening time of the Pavilion is from 6am to 6pm. By 6pm the Pavilion will close and everyone is expected to go out.
As you come obey the new rules. Come and relax and enjoy your day.

The Hon. Comm of Transport accompanied by the PS paid an unscheduled visit to the Pavilion at Oxbow Lake, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State today Friday ,15th January 2021 and ordered the immediate closure of 3 shops used for Karaoke, Bar and Lounge.
She expressed disappointment that the Proprietor painted the place with offensive murals on the walls and arranged seats on the Drive-way.
She also noted that the level of Indian H**p Smoking and use of hard drugs in the Pavilion has increased since December, 2020 and stated that the Ministry will make every effort to ensure that all such activities are stopped with immediate effect and the Pavilion made conduicive once again for Children and Families to enjoy and relax.
