In addition to public story hours, Viva León Leyendo shares the power of reading in public schools (pictured: Modesto Armijo). We train any interested teachers in how to read aloud like storytellers and give them access to engaging, age-appropriate books.

We're getting back to posting about this incredible program, Viva León Leyendo. Our last post was April 6, 2018 - mere days before so many lives changed. Thanks for your patience for news while we regrouped for the last 9 months. The Curiosity Circle, locally known as Viva Leon Leyendo, has been thriving, growing and absolutely rocking throughout the past 9 months bringing amazing books/stories to families throughout it all. We've got news to share about new staff, new story hour sites, new storytellers, new books and a new chess club. It's quite an A M A Z I N G story of our own!

"Reading one book is like eating one potato chip." - Diane Duane
That's our goal, to get kids addicted to reading. It's much better than chips. :)

We were so excited to recently meet with author Andrea Doshi. We had an interesting conversation about children's books and the need for more girl protaganists.
Andrea and her team founded Queen Girls which publishes children's books which break gender stereotypes from early on.
Andrea generously donated "Bessie, Queen of the Sky" to our library and dedicated it to all of the "Queens of León". It was our first book signed by the author!
