This is Lisette. Together with her family, Lisette runs a dairy farm in the Netherlands. “Being among the cows and contributing to their health is something I really enjoy,” Lisette says. “Health and longevity come first. Here, animals are born and grow old in good health. That’s our goal, and a key strength of our farm.”

“I grew up within the cooperative structure, and I’m now a member of the FrieslandCampina Young Farmers.” A role she values highly. “You get to know the cooperative and its people better, gain inspiration, and make your voice heard. After all, young people are the future.”

Raise a glass, it’s World Milk Day 🥛✨

Today we celebrate milk in all its goodness, nutrition, and everyday impact around the world. Did you know a 200ml glass of milk provides around 30% of your daily calcium needs?

Naturally rich in protein, calcium, and vitamins, milk helps nourish millions of people every day, from breakfast tables to farming communities.

Here’s to our member dairy farmers and their cows, our colleagues, and the simple goodness that brings us together. 🤍

“Our cows always make us smile,” says member dairy farmer Debbie. She proudly runs her dairy farm together with her husband Jeroen in the Netherlands.

The freedom to do things her own way within the cooperative is something Debbie really values. “Future-focused farming means investing in a more sustainable and efficient business, but in a way that suits who you are. For us, that means placing extra focus on CO₂ efficiency and animal welfare. For the steps we take, we receive additional rewards through the Foqus Planet programme, on top of the guaranteed milk price. That’s how the cooperative helps support a future-proof dairy farm.”

Driven by passion, innovation, and care for the next generation, Debbie continues to invest in a sustainable future for her farm. 🌱🐄

A nutritious start to the day can make a real difference in how children learn, focus, and grow 🥛 Understanding this matters.

For decades, we’ve helped bring dairy into school environments in a structured and responsible way, combining high-quality milk with age-appropriate nutrition education. The goal is to support children’s nutritional needs and help address dietary gaps.

Meet Brigitte. Member dairy farmer, entrepreneur and balancing-it-all expert. Together with her husband Thomas, she runs a dairy farm in Germany.

“Healthy cows and good animal care are at the heart of a future-proof farm,” says Brigitte. Her daily operations are well organised: the milking robots not only create a smoother workflow but also help monitor the cows’ health and wellbeing. That creates more room for family, guests and time to unwind. “When I need to clear my head, I hop on my bike. After an hour of cycling, my batteries are fully recharged.”

Together, we’re stronger 🤝🥛

Behind every glass of milk, there’s a farmer. For more than 150 years, farmers have achieved more by joining forces in a cooperative, and that mindset still drives us today.

🐄🌱 Empowering dairy farmers is key to building a stronger, more sustainable dairy industry — and that’s exactly what our Value4Dairy capacity building programme set out to achieve.

Over 100 dairy farmers from across Southwest Nigeria came together for a two-day intensive training focused on practical ways to increase milk production through better nutrition, feed management and forage development.

With expert facilitators from Trouw Nutrition, Barenbrug and URUS farmers gained hands-on knowledge they can immediately apply to improve animal health, productivity and farm profitability.

Through the Value4Dairy Project, we continue to drive sustainable dairy development, strengthen local milk production and improve livelihoods across Sub-Saharan Africa. 💚🥛
