Radio Swammerdam comes to the University Library for a special evening on one fascinating theme: the many deceptions of the 19th century, and how they still shape our historical imagination today.
Join editors Tabe Bakker, Momo Schaap and Max Waterreus as they step out of the studio and into The Lab. They’ll revisit some of their favourite former guests and each explore, in their own way, how the 19th century continues to influence—and distort—the way we understand history.

Exam season is almost over… and we asked students at the Library one simple question: what makes you panic during exams?
From procrastination and studying two days before the exam, to seeing everyone else stressed, worrying about failing, or even just finding the exam location in Amsterdam 😅
Turns out, a lot of exam stress comes from feeling like everyone else has it together. Spoiler: they don’t.
What about you…what stresses you out most during exam season? Share your panics in the comments below 👇
Science Park offers more than you might expect.
From LAB42 to dedicated collaboration rooms and study cabinets, students have access to over 800 study spaces designed for different ways of working. The collaboration rooms support group work and discussion, while the study cabinets provide quieter, focused spaces for individual study.
Together with other study areas across campus, Science Park is built to support both teamwork and concentration in one place.
Well connected by public transport, it is an accessible alternative to the city centre, with space and flexibility for every type of study session.
Extra study spaces and extended opening hours are available this weekend and on Whit Monday across multiple UvA locations.
✔️Bushuis (Universiteitskwartier)
Open Saturday 23, Sunday 24, and Monday 25 May from 09:00–18:00, with 335 additional study spaces in the attic, workshop space, Kartinizaal, and rooms F1.14, F2.11B, and F2.11C. Access only with a valid UvA student card.

In this second part of ‘Meet the Staff: Desk Librarians’ Remko and Larissa show you what you can borrow at the library counters across all campuses.
From noise-cancelling headphones and USB-C cables to ergonomic keyboards, mice, and even screens: everything you need for any study session.
Have you booked a project room? Don’t forget to grab your bookmarks.
One simple request: please return everything so the next student can use it too.
And one more reminder when using the library’s facilities: please keep the chairs in the project rooms where they belong. It helps everyone enjoy the same great service.
