The onebooklibrary.com is examining new ways of photo book publishing. Two years ago I published a photo book in co-operation with designer Svea Gustavs.
The book Улица-Street-Straße had three languages; Russian, German and English and showed the situation in the countries of Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union in the years 1987 to 2003. I've spend years traveling and creating photo stories in the Eastern Europe. The book was successful and we gained a lot of experience through the self-publishing process. We are back!
The www.ulitza.com was a few days offline due to a nasty hackers attack. The site has been re-newed, cleaned and is now heavily guarded, all thanks to the wonderful Leonie Hoever!

Me and my studio mates are working on innovations towards professional online publishing. In new media realities we no longer can rely on publishing houses. Or they are disappearing or they send you horrible contracts. We authors in journalism and art have to find a direct contact to our public. That also means that we have to ask money for the content we provide.
At studio NL12 we are investigating this with our guinea-pig-project the onebooklibrary.com.
It's a bumpy road and we are changing stuff all the time. Last half year we asked you an one euro entrance fee. Many people did but some were hesitating. Signing up and filling in ones email address seemed to be a barrier for them.
The last few days of 2015 we opened the library for free and to our surprise many of you paid on their way out. Thank you for that. We keep on innovating and are changed things again: the doors will remain open and we let you decide what is the value of our work.
