🐴💚 A HISTORIC VICTORY FOR HORSES IN NEW YORK CITY!

After decades of campaigning by animal rights advocates, New York City has taken a historic step towards ending horse-drawn carriages!

On October 22, the City Council voted overwhelmingly (40–7) to phase out the industry by June 2028.

Under Romanch’s Law, approximately 180 horses will be protected from being sold for slaughter or transferred to another carriage business, while a transition plan will support affected workers.

This victory is a powerful reminder that persistent advocacy, compassion and political action can create real change for animals.

We celebrate this milestone alongside our American sister party, Humane Party USA, and all those who have fought tirelessly for a kinder future for horses.

🐻🌍 PROTECTING BEARS, BUILDING BRIDGES – WORLD CONFERENCE 2026!

When compassion meets political action, change becomes possible. 💚

From 16–18 October, animal advocates, political representatives and experts from across Europe and beyond came together in Brașov, Romania, for three inspiring days of knowledge-sharing, meaningful discussions and international collaboration.

Together with our Romanian sister party Partidul NOA - Natură, Oameni, Animale, we brought people together around two urgent challenges: protecting Romania’s bears and creating a more humane future for stray animals.

From powerful presentations and an unforgettable visit to the Libearty Bear Sanctuary to the signing of two important manifestos, this conference reminded us why international cooperation matters.

✨ Different countries. Different perspectives. One shared mission: a world where animals are respected, protected and represented.

A heartfelt thank you to our speakers, partners and every participant who contributed their knowledge, passion and commitment.

The conference may be over, but our work together is far from finished. 💚

🐾 A major step forward for animals in Europe!

Great news from the European Parliament! Thanks to an initiative by MEP Anja Hazekamp of Partij voor de Dieren Europa, a majority has voted to call for the reinstatement of the ban on Russian fur imports.

A powerful victory against animal cruelty and a clear message that animal suffering should never be part of international trade.

👏 Congratulations to Anja Hazekamp and the Party for the Animals Europe for their determination and leadership!

Last weekend in Romania, we brought together an incredible group of people for our Animal Politics Foundation conference “Protecting Bears, Building Bridges.”

There were inspiring conversations, new connections, shared knowledge, plenty of laughter — and above all, a powerful determination to create change. 💚

The countdown is on! In just a few days, the Party for the Animals World Conference 2026 will bring together animal advocates, scientists, conservationists and experts from across the world in Brașov, Romania.

Under the theme “Protecting Bears, Building Bridges”, we will explore some of the most pressing animal welfare and wildlife conservation challenges, from protecting Romania’s brown bears to improving the lives of stray animals.

Fur belongs to animals. Not on the European market‼️

Russian sable fur is being allowed back onto the EU market. A deeply troubling step — both for animals and at a time when the EU continues to impose sanctions on Russia.

Around 40 sables can be killed for a single fur coat, after spending their lives confined in small cages. 😢

MEP Anja Hazekamp of the Partij voor de Dieren Europa, together with fellow MEPs, is 📢 calling 📢 on the European Commission to reinstate the ban on Russian fur products.

And there is an even bigger question: why is fur still being traded in Europe at all❓

In 2023, 1.5 million EU citizens called for a Fur Free Europe. Their message could hardly be clearer. 💪

🐾 Animals need their fur. We don’t.

Romania’s bears are under threat. 🐻

New legislation allows hundreds of bears to be killed — including bears living peacefully in their natural habitat.

Our Romanian sister party NOA is raising serious concerns about the role of trophy hunting and calling for a different approach.

This October, the Animal Politics Foundation will bring politicians, scientists and animal advocates together in Romania for our World Conference Protecting Bears, Building Bridges.

Because coexistence is possible. And wildlife should be protected, not turned into trophies.

Romania’s bears deserve protection — not a price tag. 🐻💚
