That’s what happened in hundreds of French supermarkets following a cyberattack.

No stolen shopping carts.
No empty shelves caused by panic buying.
Just refrigeration systems that stopped doing their job, putting food at risk.

What could possibly go wrong with a €500 car, 7,000+ kilometres and three weeks across Europe and Africa?

Quite a lot, probably.

On October 31, Daan & Eef are taking on the Amsterdam-Dakar Challenge, and we’re proud to support them along the way.

More than 7,000 kilometres, 3 weeks and a €500 car, crossing Europe and West Africa before reaching Dakar. And the adventure doesn’t end there.

They’ll continue to Banjul, Gambia, where their car will be auctioned to raise funds for two local projects: solar energy for communities and education for girls in vulnerable situations.

At CtrlChain, we’re proud to support them on this challenge. Because we believe that big challenges aren’t only measured in kilometres travelled, but also in the impact we can create along the way.

Now it’s time to get the car ready, gather spare parts, camping gear and everything needed to take on the desert… and head for Dakar!

Last Friday, we celebrated 8 years of building, learning, growing and figuring out better ways to move freight.

A lot has changed since day one. New people, new markets, new products, new challenges and plenty of lessons along the way.

But one thing hasn’t changed: we’re still curious about what’s next.

And of course, no birthday is complete without cake. (And somehow, the cake gets better every year. 😋 )
