Barikit had news for me !
They are working on some old orders I placed.

1. Bidalot racing piston 22mm height.
With 0,8mm piston ring.
Ring slot centre back.
Size 39,94 and 95.

2. 48mm piston 25mm height.
Piston ring 1mm.
Ring slot centre back.
Size 47,95.

Ik ben weer terug in Nederland!
En de eerste projecten voor de werkplaats zijn al weer binnen.
Hier is een interessante en zeldzame motor:
Een Beta.
Deze wordt omgebouwd tot 80cc waterkoeling met roterende inlaat.
De roterende inlaat is al ingebouwd.
Volgende stap is de cilindervoet aanpassen aan de cilinder.
De krukas moet ook omgebouwd.
Koppeling verzwaard en er komt een extra versnelling bij (6v)
EMOT pakt elk merk aan. 35 jaar ervaring.

Test benches never tell the whole story!
The little bike just felt way more responsive with the XTNG carburettor.
We tested this 3 speed racer on a full size racetrack against 5-6 speed competitors.
The result was stunning, it could do the whole track in 3.gear and was still keeping up.
Testing and fun at the same time.

Whats up in the workshop?

Back in the old days when I was young and couldn't afford the god of racing ignitions (Kröber) we used these cheap little ignition switches for the VW Beetle. They are basically electronic breaker points. The trigger is a little magnet.
Compared to an Ignitech they are total crap. But one thing is just great, you dont need to hide a box and a lot of wires which will spoil the original look of a vintage racer.
In this case the breaker points are hidden behind a cover from factory. Visible is a battery and a classic metal ignition coil. The looks preserved, but no worries about floating breaker points or blown condensator.

If you got inspired: Ali Express or Temu sells them for around 25-30 euro. Originally they were sold by EMPI. Now they are "CherryBerg compufire electronic ignition for vw"
Warning: buy a spare. They are crap.
Left ignition on? Dead
A connector loosened while running? Dead
Bad ground? Dead
Yeah..life was tough in the old days before Ignitech arrived at the scene.

Stel: je wilt je oldtimer brommer motor gereviseerd of getuned hebben.
Je denkt dat EMOT-racing wel een goed adres is. Maar je hebt Meeden op de kaart opgezocht, en dat is echt heel ver weg, waarschijnlijk kunnen ze daar in de winter elke avond het noorderlicht zien..!
En met de post...gaat dat wel goed?
In dat geval kan ik in overleg zo een plastic box opsturen.
Die is steviger dan karton en zo komt de motor veilig in Meeden aan.
