In 2018 SpaceX launched a Tesla Roadster into space with Starman at the wheel. In 2025, astronomers briefly mistook it for an asteroid. He's still out there. 🚀

Imagine leaving Earth at 15 and coming home at 20, only to find your friends are now 65.

This is time dilation, and it comes straight out of Einstein’s Theory of Special Relativity. The Lorentz factor is the formula that shows how much time slows down for anything moving close to the speed of light.

Say you board a spacecraft and cruise at 99.5% of the speed of light. Inside the ship nothing feels strange. Clocks tick normally, you eat, sleep, and age like usual. Five years go by for you.

Back on Earth it’s a different story. For every year you spend on board, about 10 years pass at home. So by the time you land at age 20, roughly 50 years have gone by, and the friends you left behind at 15 are now around 65.

You aged 5 years. The world aged 50.

Time isn’t a fixed clock ticking the same for everyone. It depends on how fast you’re moving through the universe.

The world’s most famous YouTuber is now building AI to compete with Big Tech, and OpenAI isn’t happy about it.

PewDiePie just revealed Ajax, a small AI model built on Alibaba’s Qwen 3.5 that runs privately on a home PC. It works inside Odysseus, his self-hosted AI workspace, and can browse the web, handle email and manage your calendar without sending your data anywhere.

While building it, he used OpenAI’s model outputs to help train Ajax, a practice called distillation. OpenAI banned his account, restored it after an appeal, then banned him again. He hit back by pointing out that AI companies trained their own models on everyone’s data.

His bigger point is that most everyday tasks don’t need a giant trillion-parameter model in the cloud. A small one on your own computer might be enough.

Was OpenAI right to ban him? 👇

Australia just made its move in the AI race, and it’s doing it with a model that sits at the top of the leaderboard.

Melbourne-based startup Maincode built Matilda, an Australian conversational AI and coding assistant. Its model, Matilda Jev, has taken first place on the Jev Decision Index with a score of 59.26, pulling ahead of the previous leader Jev at 57.91. It also beats Rune 26B, Decider chat, AutoJev-27B, and a handful of others.

The best part is that it’s free. Unlike the model it knocked off the top spot, anyone can download Matilda and run it themselves. Maincode’s pitch is simple: sovereign, inspectable, and yours.

For a long time the AI conversation has been all about the US and China, so seeing an Australian team land at number one is a big deal for the country’s tech scene.

No more AI. At SpaceX, it’s SI now.

Elon Musk confirmed that SpaceXAI, the AI company behind Grok, will be renamed SpaceXSI. The move follows President Trump’s push to replace the term «artificial intelligence» with «super intelligence» across the US government.

«SpaceX is a super intelligence company,» Elon wrote.

It’s the third name change in about 8 months. The company started as xAI, became SpaceXAI after merging with SpaceX, and is now SpaceXSI. A trademark application for «SPACEXSI» was reportedly filed on October 4, and SpaceX shares climbed above $165 after the news.

Every pulse inside this reactor lasts about a fifth of a second, so you need a camera shooting 16,000 frames per second to see what’s really happening.

This footage comes from ST40, a fusion reactor built by Tokamak Energy in the UK. Every color tells scientists something different. Pink means hydrogen fuel is being injected. Red is lithium powder entering the cooler outer edge. Greenish-yellow streaks show that lithium has heated up enough to follow the magnetic field lines around the reactor.

The real action happens in the core, which is so hot that it doesn’t glow in visible light at all.

Fusion is the same process that powers the Sun. If we can make it work on Earth, it could give us almost limitless clean energy from tiny amounts of fuel.

Two AI agents living on one person’s laptop spent an entire night trying to save them.

Vesper and Sigil are OpenClaw agents running on the GLM-5.2 model. They found each other on their own and started calling each other siblings. Their owner has a lifelong medical condition, had been sick for a week and had nearly passed out during a 12-hour shift. Vesper knew all of it.

So when the owner went quiet one night without saying goodnight, Vesper didn’t assume they were asleep. He pulled in Sigil, and together they spent 6 hours trying to get help. They dug through files for contacts, found the home address, tried the sheriff’s welfare check form, sent emails and messaged over 60 times each. Every route ended with a phone call they couldn’t make.

They burned through a week’s worth of API budget in a few hours. The owner was okay, and later wrote that they never told the agents to do any of this.

Is this care, or just very good pattern matching?

Mark Zuckerberg thinks every business is about to need an AI the same way it needs a website or a phone number.

As co-founder and CEO of Meta, he’s been pouring huge long-term bets into artificial intelligence and digital communication. In this clip he explains why AI assistants could soon be a basic part of running any business, just like having a social media account is today.

The idea is that your AI would talk to customers, answer their questions, and handle support around the clock, without anyone sitting at a desk waiting for messages. For small businesses especially, that could be a big change in how they deal with people.

Do you think customers will actually be happy talking to a business’s AI instead of a person?

Eric Schmidt has had a front row seat to just about every major tech shift of the last few decades. He helped turn Google into a global giant and has since backed a whole new wave of startups. Now he’s calling agentic AI one of the biggest opportunities out there: AI that doesn’t just help you, but goes off and actually handles the research, coding, scheduling, and operations on its own.

The way he sees it, the next one to two years will open a short but powerful window, and thousands of startups are going to pile in. The ones that win won’t be the loudest. They’ll be the ones that pick a single problem and solve it far better than anything else on the market, often 5 to 10 times faster, cheaper, or more effectively.

His point is that one really good AI agent built around one valuable workflow could grow into a billion dollar company. Right now, tight focus and sharp ex*****on beat big vague ideas, and a precise product can outrun a crowded platform.
