And we’re on our way! ❤️

Today, our team, together with Setu Nepal – Nepal Rapid Action Team, departed for Nuwakot to begin our Milan Aangan – Child Safe Space initiative.

Along with our team, we’re carrying medical supplies, humanitarian essentials, stationery and learning materials for children, sanitation supplies, menstrual hygiene products, diapers, and other essential items for the communities we’ll be supporting.

But beyond the supplies, we’re carrying something just as important — our time, care, and commitment to creating a safe space where children can play, learn, express themselves, connect, and feel heard.

This 12-day journey is about being present with the children and communities, listening to them, and standing alongside them during a difficult time.

Supported by Karmayog Foundation and Kathmandu University – Department of Environmental Engineering.

Nuwakot, we’re coming with care. ❤️

Tomorrow, our team sets out for Nuwakot. ❤️

We are proud to announce that Milan Aangan – A Child-Centered Post-Disaster Safe Space is being supported by Karmayog Foundation Nepal and Kathmandu University – Department of Environmental Engineering.

Milan Aangan is an initiative, building on our experience of creating safe spaces for children and communities affected by disasters. This time, our team of volunteers will spend 12 days with children in Nuwakot, creating spaces where they can play, learn, express themselves, connect with others, and feel safe after a difficult time.

Alongside child-centered activities, our team will also work on understanding children’s emotional well-being through participatory and indirect approaches, helping us better understand what support they may need.

A big thank you to Karmayog Foundation Nepal and Kathmandu University – Department of Environmental Engineering for believing in this initiative and standing with us.

Tomorrow, we go not just to serve, but to listen, learn, and stand together with the children and communities of Nuwakot.

Milan Aangan — a safe space to meet, heal, connect, and grow. 🌱

In the aftermath of the floods, children are often left navigating changes and uncertainty that can be difficult to process.

📖 Storytelling & music
🤝 Group interaction & play
🌿 Simple coping & relaxation activities

📍 Nuwakot, Nepal
🗓️ 25 September onwards | 12 days

Floods, earthquakes, and landslides are not distant threats for us in Nepal. From the hills to the Terai, we’ve seen how quickly a hazard can disrupt lives, displace families, damage homes and infrastructure, and leave communities struggling to recover.

But disasters don’t have to become catastrophes. While we cannot always prevent natural hazards, we can prepare better, understand the risks around us, and build communities that are stronger and more resilient.

At CESCA Nepal, we believe disaster awareness starts with understanding our own surroundings. The rivers we live beside, the hills we build on, the roads we travel, and the communities we call home all carry risks we need to recognize. Preparedness is not just about what we do after a disaster—it is about what we choose to do before one happens.

Swipe through to learn about some of the disasters we face in Nepal and why awareness, preparedness, and collective action matter.

Know our risks. Prepare our communities. Protect our future. 🌱
