Our Story

A place where you will be surrounded by peaceful and quiet hills, sleep in bamboo cottages and wake up with a panoramic view. 8.6 km from Thamel, Dreamland is run by locals with a touch of help from foreign volunteers. It was built after the earthquake in April 2015 with love, compassion and positive energy to welcome all the travelers and local people in enjoying the nature of Nepal. Come and give yourself a calming retreat in your own company, with your loved ones or your friends. We provide dorms and private rooms with their own balcony, each equipped with toilet. We offer also free Wi-Fi, 24 Hours electricity, and an organic menu. In the daytime you can take a hike up the hills to the White Gumba, the Red Gumba, go for a walk in the jungle or swing in our hammocks and relax.

Come and enjoy this beautiful place and support our sustainable eco-tourism project which benefits the local community. Here you can receive the healing from nature's vibration and sounds. We look forward to having you here! :)

What Dreamland is:

A community of travelers and locals just 8.6km from Thamel in Kathmandu and 6km from the Swayambhunath Stupa at the Monkey Temple. A place where the shanti life meets your creative dreams, Dreamland welcomes all travelers!

Ramkot, a small village just outside of Kathmandu, is easily reachable with taxi, local bus or by walking. We have set up a few signs to guide your way and will welcome you on top of the slope of a hill with breathtaking views of the valley and Kathmandu.

We opened our doors to introduce Nepal to a real international travelers community. Our approach is as simple as it is beautiful: live together in a home away from home, using but respecting the land around us and, of course, sharing the love of exploring different cultures.

What we offer:

A swimming pool, bonfire, a chill out / party deck with hammocks and a treehouse in the middle of the garden. Dreamland guests can also enjoy the on-site traditional food. Free WiFi is available in all areas of the property.

1 hectare of land accommodates 2 dormitories with 8 beds each and 3 private rooms.

For the time being, every room is equipped with a toilet except one dormitory. There is, however, one toilet available outside.

There is a 24-hour front desk. The space is very suitable for activities like meditation, yoga, jungle walks, and hiking.

The nearest airport is Tribhuvan Airport, 15 km from the property.

3 meals a day provided at 350 Nr/day

How to get here:

From Gwarko or Ratna Park take a bus to Sitapaila Swayambhu. From there transfer to a bus that will take you to Ramkot close to the local Party Palace. After a 10 minute walk to the west, following the main road past Ramkot Stupa to the Ramkot Health Post, head north towards the hill and look for the sign posts with the dream catcher that show you a shortcut through the hill. You'll be at the doors of the hostel in no time.
