We are looking for few volunteers to help for upcoming International Colour Them Safe program.

Program Short Description
Colour Them Safe believes expressing yourself creatively makes life worth living. By using art to raise awareness and engage young people from around the world through a process of enrichment and skills development, we seek to build connections of support and community. The program will bring together artists and support volunteers with disadvantaged young people to develop inspiring art, as well as helping them onto pathways towards self-confidence, empowerment and sustainable livelihoods.

Program Vision
Using art to improve the lives of disadvantaged young people.

Program Objectives
1. Utilise arts to engage disadvantaged young people in a process of enrichment and skills development
2. Build community connections of support for disadvantaged young people
3. Link in artists to nurture the creative potential of disadvantaged young people
4. Source supplies and creative resources for projects
5. Encourage healthy learning interaction across a multitude of platforms between participants, artists and the full community
6. Raise awareness about the issues faced by disadvantaged young people.

Further as the colour them safe program is relatively new there are no set roles for volunteers, However below are some of the types of things volunteers could help with:

1. Creating a positive, inclusive and safe learning environment for the program participants.
2. Guiding participants in the development of their creative abilities (E.g., drawing, painting, sculpture).
3. Teaching program participants to be resourceful with the materials they have access to as well as how to utilize recycled materials.
4. Assisting me by translating for the program participants and community partners.

The program will start at the end of March 2014 till end of April 2014 and the program will be held around suburb Kathmandu and Bhaktapur. Volunteers must be willing to travel to the program site. Interest volunteers are highly encouraged to apply with in 11th March 2014 along with your CV.
