Nepal Japan Children Library

politan City Office. For the last twelve years the library has provided, free of charge, books for children of different backgrounds to read both in and out of the library and various activities for them to enjoy. The library has an average seven hundred visitors every month. FACILITIES:

• Books and magazines.
• Toys and games.
• Videos, DVDs and CDs.
• Computer, Internet. ACTIVITIES:

• Reading books in and out of the library.
• Book exhibitions.
• Saturday Activities: film show, story hour, painting, craft, Origami, science
experiments, talk program, dance lessons, etc.
• Special Events: Japan Day, Christmas Day, Library day, Nepalese festivals,
etc.
• Training for teachers (library management, Origami, etc.). The library has Board of Directors and is managed by the Management Committee appointed by Osaka International Club – Nepal Chapter. Day to day work is run by dedicated staff and volunteers. In the first 5 years all the expenses were met with Joho Roren. Since then the library has been struggling to generate their own resources to cover the costs by organizing sales of used books, garage sales, library and Origami training sessions. There have been donations from various groups and persons, supports from Joho Roren.
