National Public Health Laboratory

National Public Health Laboratory (NPHL) conducted an onsite monitoring visit for the National Integrated SARS-CoV-2 and Influenza Surveillance (NISN) at Lumbini Provincial Hospital, Butwal and the Provincial Public Health Laboratory, Lumbini, on 21-22, May 2026. During the visit, data on the total number of Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) cases for February 2026 were collected for the SORT IT program. In addition, updates on NISN activities were reviewed and documented.

National Public Health Laboratory conducted onsite supervision and monitoring visit to newly established Measles/Rubella testing Laboratory at Province Public Health Laboratory , Lumbini Province on 7-8 Jestha 2083.

Monitoring visit of Avian Influenza Surveillance in Human Population sentinel site at Bakulahar Ratnanagar Hospital, Ratnanagar Chitwan was conducted by National Public Health Laboratory on 27 May 2026. NPHL team led by Dr. Runa Jha, visited the different wards and laboratory department. A meeting was organised with the Bakulahar Ratnnagar Hospital team including the clinicians, nursing staffs, laboratory staffs, medical recorder, and other staffs of the hospital and discussed on the importance of avian influenza Surveillance and its operation at Bakulahar Ratnanagar Hospital.
