USYC Alumni Led Engagement Session III on 21st May 2026 became a deeply inspiring and reflective space as Mr. Avinash Jha shared his journey and experiences working with UWS (United World Schools), an international non-profit organization dedicated to improving education.
Through powerful stories from the field, he highlighted the realities faced in rural communities where school enrollment was increasing, yet dropout rates before Grade 8 remained alarmingly high. The session explored the challenges of limited awareness among parents, irregular teaching practices, unplanned lessons, and the absence of long-term educational vision among children, whose dreams often remained limited to migration or survival-based professions.
Beginning with the establishment of schools in Sankhuwasabha, Gulmi, and Taplejung, UWS focused on strengthening primary education through teacher training, classroom observation, and providing essential learning materials such as uniforms, bags, and educational support for students. Participants gained insight into how communities, educators, and local stakeholders were gradually empowered to take ownership of schools, with eventual handover to local governments alongside continued quarterly follow-ups and reviews.
The interactive discussions sparked curiosity among council members around the selection process, implementation challenges, and long-term sustainability of such initiatives. Guided by the vision to help every child โread, write, count, and dream,โ the session became a reminder of how one idea, driven by purpose and persistence, can create meaningful impact at the community level.
A session that not only shared the realities of grassroots educational transformation, but also left the room filled with motivation, reflection, and a renewed belief in the power of youth-led change.

USYC Alumni Led Engagement Session II on 8th May 2026 became an insightful and empowering space for reflection as Ms. Asmita Mainali guided participants through the theme โConfidence and Voice for Leadership: Lessons from a USYC Alumni.โ Through engaging conversations, practical examples, and personal experiences, she encouraged participants to rethink confidence not as perfection, but as a skill built through self-awareness, growth, and consistent practice.
The session explored how physiology, psychology, and communication shape leadership presence. From the power of posture and breathing techniques to understanding fear responses and the impact of voice modulation, participants gained practical tools to strengthen both confidence and communication. The interactive discussions created a safe environment where participants openly reflected on personal experiences, fears, and leadership aspirations.
A session that not only shared leadership lessons from an alumnaโs journey, but also inspired participants to embrace authenticity, communicate with clarity, and grow into leaders who are confident in both presence and purpose.

USYC Alumni Led Engagement Session I on 24th April 2026 unfolded as an inspiring and deeply reflective journey as Mr. Gaurav Kandel shared his story through the theme โTurning Youth Passion into Global Influence.โ With honesty, humor, and remarkable clarity, he took the cohort back to the early days of youth civic engagement when limited budgets, logistical struggles, and minimal exposure never stopped passionate young people from building movements that would later shape futures.
One of the most powerful messages of the session was his belief that success does not depend on leaving Nepal, but on recognizing the immense possibilities within it. He encouraged participants to take the first step without hesitation, to build meaningful networks with authenticity, and to understand the difference between personal and professional growth, including financial discipline, independence, and responsibility.
A session that did not simply revisit one alumnusโs journey, but reminded every participant that meaningful change begins when young people choose to act, connect, and lead.
