OUR STORY
Tenzing gurung is cousin with tsondue gurung .they both grew up togather as close family.when tsondue and tenzing were very young,they were sent to become monks.three years before tenzing found himself with out propose,unhappy and depress while teaching at the monastery.years before,tenxing had chosen a monk because he wanted to serve poor people.at 27 years old ,he found that the academic environment did not speak to his heart or fulfill his passion to do something meaningful.looking for answer ,he spent a year and half in meditation.at the end of time he remained convinced that the way before him meant leaving the monastery.]although tenzing knew it was time to leave monastery ,he was unsure of what was next.he spent an a additional year at the monastery studying and researching wide range of courses like yoga,medicine,mind technology,volunteering with elder home,disabled and orphan children.in the third year of his search for meaning ,tenzing started living his dream.
tenxing family has a home near the monastery ,and made space available to him to begin courses in yoga , Buddhism ,meditation ,mind technology and tibetan language.his strategy was to offer courses free of charge,because he wanted to get to know as many people in the shortest amount of time.through his classes tenzing created a support group of 40 people,and he was able to to describe his dream of a school for underprivileged children.
One day he found small girl of five years old still living in a tent after earth quake .with her parent’s permission tenzing brought her to orphanage where he was volunteering.but because of some reason he could not bring her to orphanage everyday.so he decided to brought her to his office space in his parent’s home.he had the idea to open a day care centre,since his office class room space was used only during morning before 10 am and evening after 4 pm.he decided to do child care between 10 am to 4 pm.within a week ,tenzing found an additional 5 more children living in tent near his office,he hired 1 teacher and a cook,word got around ,and the day care in his parent’s home quickly began to to grow.
his cousin brother tsondue was aware of tenzing’effort ,and was also volunteering buildig schools in remote villages.he knew of children living in subsistence condition,with and without parents.the cousins were each searching for vulnerable children at the same time ,just in different location.the cousin brother soon formed partnership .on o time there were fourteen children in 2 classroom in his parent’s home.his prginal deal with his parent was for two month ,as you would imagine ,after 4,not 2 months later ,all the commotion and noise was taking a toll on his family ,so tenzing and tsondue knew it was time to find another location.
At first some what skeptical ,the families of both tenxing and tsondue soon saw how effective these men were at changing the lives of destitute children.tenzing and tsondue are not only related –their families are very large ,on both mother and father’seddes,and there are plenty of brothers and sisters,cousin-and all the in –laws as well to create a wonderful foundation to help support the dream of changing the lives of disadvantaged children.when they set out to open manang pre school ,this amazing collection of friends and family gifted them with money as well as essential household items including desk,refrigerator,kitchen equipment ,office furniture,beds and bedding.they are not only depending on donation ,they are organizing many charity classes as Buddhism,meditation,yoga and Tibetan to collect fund raise.
