HerPad today conducted a training on Menstrual Hygiene and Reusable Pad making for the fellows of 2019 at Snow Yak Foundation. The training was facilitated by Tirtharaj Koirala.
These fellows will be away from their home and spending 8 months time living and teaching at the schools of Upper and Lower Dolpa. Dolpa is one of the remote districts of Nepal where people are deprived of basic needs and facilities. This is also the place where Chaupadi is still in practice and needs attention on the issues of Menstrual Hygiene. These fellows with the help of the knowledge gained from the training will prepare and use their own reusable pads during their stay at Dolpa and will try their best to bring about positive change in the practice and concept of the people living there on the issue of Menstruation.
HerPad and Snow Yak Foundation will work together in coming days in the fields of Dolpa hoping to spark a light of change in Menstrual Hygiene practice and behaviour. We wish that Snow Yak Foundation will keep inspiring us in the days to come like it has always done. Best of Luck to the team. :)
