Karnali Herbs was instrumental in the legalization of trade and export of yarshagumba (cordyceps sinensis) a very high value herb. In October 2004 Karnali Herbs legally exported yarshagumba to Singapore - making it the first ever legal export from Nepal and pioneering current legal business what was an illegal export trade depriving government of revenue and fair price for harvesters.
Karnali Herbs has initiated "trial" farming of several medicinal herbs in collaboration with Forest Users' Group on Government Lease Land. It is also researching on farming of olive and sea-buck thorn.
The company believes in Fair Trade and ethical business practices and supports conservation activities.
