The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Kathmandu, together with the Sri Lankan community in Nepal, organized a Vesak Dansala on 30 May 2026 at the Embassy premises to mark Vesak Day.

The Embassy premises were adorned with Vesak lanterns and lights, creating a peaceful and festive atmosphere. The programme commenced with religious observances conducted by the Maha Sangha, followed by the Vesak Dansala, during which traditional Sri Lankan refreshments were served to visitors and passers-by in a spirit of generosity and compassion, reflecting Sri Lanka's cherished tradition of sharing.

The occasion embodied the teachings of the Lord Buddha, fostering kindness, unity, and goodwill among all.
