Kathmandu, 30-Sep | A productive meeting was held between newly appointed Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Purbanchal University, Prof. Dr. Prachand Man Pradhan and Prof. Dr. Padma Bahadur Shahi, Chairman, Nepal Engineering Council (NEC).

The meeting focused on the previous collaboration between Purbanchal University and NEC and the progress of the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Action Plan, with discussions on strengthening engineering education and advancing quality and global accreditation.

Prof. Dr. Pradhan expressed a positive and progressive outlook toward enhancing the quality of engineering education and advancing its global recognition.

The meeting marks a constructive step toward further strengthening collaboration between Purbanchal University and Nepal Engineering Council for the continuous improvement and global recognition of engineering education in Nepal.

Kathmandu, 30-Sep | Nepal Engineering Council successfully concluded the training on “Recognition and Monitoring of Engineering Colleges” with the distribution of certificates to the participants, followed by group photographs.

Kathmandu 30-September |Nepal Engineering Council (NEC) successfully conducted a training program on “Recognition and Monitoring of Engineering Colleges” today, 30 September 2026, at the NEC Program Hall.

The program commenced with the welcome address by Vice-Chairman of NEC, Er. Arna Raj Silwal. Two informative sessions were conducted by the resource persons, Prof. Dr. Padma Bahadur Shahi, Chairman, NEC, and Er. Dev Raj Joshi.

The training brought together more than 50 participants from academia and industry, providing an important platform for sharing knowledge, strengthening understanding of recognition and monitoring processes, and promoting quality assurance in engineering education.

On September 20, 2026, the Nepal Engineering Council (NEC) hosted a certificate awarding ceremony at its premises to celebrate the achievements of prominent Nepali engineers. The highlight of the event was the official awarding of competence-based Professional Engineering (PE) registration certificates to nineteen new engineers belonging to the fifth batch of PEng(NPL) holders. In addition to the new inductions, renewal certificates were officially awarded to ten engineers from the third batch who were originally certified in February 2021. The program also featured a special segment dedicated to honoring the reviewers and evaluators who played a crucial role in managing the competence assessment procedure.
The ceremony was graced by several high-profile Professional Engineers PEng(NPL). Mr. Arjun Jund Thapa, PEng(NPL), Honorable Member of the National Planning Commission, attended the event as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Rajan Suwal, PEng(NPL), Vice Chancellor of Mid-West University, joined as the Special Guest. A major intellectual highlight of the program was a keynote presentation delivered by international expert Professor Khondaker Sakil Ahmed from Bangladesh. He presented the paper on the theme "Professional Competence and IPEA Requirements,". The presentation was vital guidance and strategic insights to help the NEC advance toward securing membership in the International Professional Engineers Agreement (IPEA).
Er. Abhilekh Gautam served as the Master of Ceremonies for the event.
