कर्णाली प्रदेशको २,९९० मिटर उचाइमा अवस्थित 'रारा' नेपालकै सबैभन्दा ठूलो र अनुपम ताल (१०.८ वर्ग कि.मि.) हो। सूर्यको प्रकाशसँगै गाढा नीलो, फिरोजी र चाँदीजस्तो चम्किलो रङमा बदलिने यसको पानीले जोकोहीलाई लठ्ठ पार्छ। रारा राष्ट्रिय निकुञ्जले घेरिएको यो क्षेत्र दुर्लभ रेडपाण्डा र हिमाली भालुहरूको सुरक्षित बासस्थान पनि हो।

यहाँ पुग्न मुगुको ताल्चा विमानस्थलसम्मको उडान अथवा मनमोहक प्रकृतिको दृश्यावलोकन गर्दै ४-५ दिनको साहसिक पदयात्रा तय गर्न सकिन्छ।

Located at an altitude of 2,990 meters in Karnali Province, 'Rara' is Nepal's largest and unique lake (10.8 sq km). Its water, which turns into brilliant colors like dark blue, turquoise and silver with the sunlight, is mesmerizing to anyone. Surrounded by the Rara National Park, the area is also a protected habitat for rare red pandas and mountain bears.

To reach here, one can take a flight to Mugu's Talcha Airport or take a 4-5 day adventure trek to see the beautiful nature.

सन् १९५० जुन ३ मा फ्रान्सका मौरिज हर्जोग र लुई लचेनलको टोलीले प्रथम पटक अन्नपूर्ण हिमाल (८,०९१ मि.) को सफल आरोहण गरी विश्व पर्वतारोहणको इतिहासमा नयाँ अध्याय कोरेको दिनको सम्झनामा म्याग्दीको अन्नपूर्ण-४ नारच्याङमा विविध कार्यक्रमसहित ७६औं आरोहण दिवस मनाइदैछ। सम्पूर्णमा आरोहण दिवसको शुभकामना!🇳🇵

Celebrating the 76th climbing day of "Eldest Mountain" Annapurna!

On June 3, 1950, the team of French Maurice Herzog and Louis Lachenal successfully climbed Annapurna Himal (8,091 m.) for the first time and wrote a new chapter in the history of world mountaineering. Happy Climbing Day to all!

नेपालले वन्यजन्तु संरक्षणमा विश्वसामु एक उत्कृष्ट उदाहरण प्रस्तुत गरेको छ। सन् १९६८ को दशकमा १०० भन्दा कमको सङ्ख्यामा खुम्चिएका दुर्लभ एकसिङ्गे गैँडाहरूको सङ्ख्या आज वृद्धि भएर ७५० भन्दा बढी पुगिसकेको छ। सन् १९७३ मा चितवन राष्ट्रिय निकुञ्जको स्थापनासँगै सुरु भएको समुदायमा आधारित संरक्षण अभियान र 'शून्य सिकार वर्ष' जस्ता ऐतिहासिक उपलब्धिहरूले नै नेपालको यो संरक्षण यात्रालाई सफल र प्रेरणादायी बनाएका हुन्।

Nepal sets an excellent example to the world in wildlife conservation. The number of rare two-horned rhinos has increased from less than 100 in the 1960s to more than 750 today. The community-based conservation campaign launched in 1973, and the cultural availability of the 'Year of Peace' is what makes this conservation journey successful and inspiring.

पोखराको फेवाताल जति चर्चित छ, त्यसभन्दा १५ किलोमिटर पूर्वमा रहेको 'बेगनास ताल' त्यति नै शान्त र मनमोहक छ। सहरी कोलाहल र भिडभाडबाट टाढा रहेको यो प्राकृतिक जलासयले आगन्तुकहरूलाई एक फरकखालको शान्तिको अनुभूति गराउँछ। माथितिर टलक्क टल्कने अन्नपूर्ण हिमशृङ्खला र तल बेगनासको शान्त नीलो पानीको सङ्गमले यहाँ आउने जोकोहीलाई मन्त्रमुग्ध बनाउने गर्दछ।

As famous as Pokhara's Fewa Lake, 'Begnas Lake', located 15 kilometers east of it, is equally peaceful and charming. Away from the hustle of the city, this natural reservoir offers visitors a different kind of peace. The confluence of the shimmering Annapurna mountain range above and the calm blue waters of Begnas below enchants anyone who comes here.

Originating from Palpa, 'Palpali Dhaka' has been an integral part of Nepali life and dress for centuries due to its attractive, colorful geometric patterns. उच्च हिमाली क्षेत्रको शान, 'हिउँ चितुवा' (Snow Leopard) नेपालको एक दुर्लभ र मनमोहक वन्यजन्तु हो। नवीनतम राष्ट्रिय सर्वेक्षण (२०२५) ले नेपालमा यिनको सङ्ख्या ३९७ रहेको देखाएको छ। विशेषगरी ३,००० मिटरभन्दा माथिका कञ्चनजङ्घा, गौरीशङ्कर, मनास्लु, अन्नपूर्णदेखि डोल्पा र हुम्लाका हिमाली भेगमा यिनीहरूको बासस्थान रहेको छ। हिउँदको समय, अर्थात् डिसेम्बरदेखि फेब्रुअरीसम्म यी सुन्दर 'हिउँ चितुवा'हरूको अवलोकनका लागि सबैभन्दा उपयुक्त मानिन्छ।

The pride of the high Himalayan region, the 'Snow Leopard' is a rare and fascinating wildlife of Nepal. The latest national survey (2025) showed that its population in Nepal is 397. It is mainly found in the mountainous regions above 3,000 meters, from Kanchenjunga, Gaurishankar, Manaslu, Annapurna, to Dolpa and Humla. The winter season, i.e, from December to February, is considered the most suitable for observing these beautiful 'Snow Leopards'.
