Nature is Scary

This is the heart of a Blue whale. Weighing in excess of 1,300 lbs (±600 kg), it is the size of a small car. The gigantic heart beats 8-10 times per minute, and each heartbeat can be heard from over 2 miles (3.2 km) away.

South African photographer Mark Dumbleton took this picture of a female lion after she lost one of her teeth in a violent fight with a predator. All this in order to protect her young, who survived in the end while she was hugging him with blood filling her face.
Little Ali did not seem to care about the extent of his ’s suffering, but he will soon learn the extent of the sacrifice she made for him after he grows up and becomes responsible for protecting the herd.
