Managing Winter Illnesses

Hi everyone,

We currently have a lot of winter bugs (colds and flu) circulating in our school, with a high number of both children and staff away sick at the moment.

To ensure we can keep things running as smoothly as possible while managing these absences, over the coming days we may need to:

Combine classrooms for certain sessions, or have our Teacher Aides (who have limited authorities to teach) step in to help support and supervise classrooms.

Please, if your child is showing any signs of being unwell, keep them home until they are fully recovered. Keeping them home ensures they can rest and recover, and importantly, prevents bugs from spreading to other students and our staff.

Thank you for your ongoing support to keep everyone healthy and make it through to the end of the term!

What a thrilling beginning to our school day. We are looking forward to refurbishing these classrooms and are eager to see what this space will offer once the rooms are upgraded and become part of Awahono.

Other activities included, planting seeds and plants, weeding the garden, checking in to see how the sprouts were growing from last week and some flower crafts 🌸
