Exciting times are ahead for Auckland!
As we gear up for the debut of the City Rail Link, our volunteers and emergency teams have been practicing live drills to ensure all agencies work together to respond safely, quickly and effectively in case of emergency🚆
Here are three places you can go to if you're feeling unwell this winter:
1️⃣ Book an appointment with your GP or doctor if you're generally unwell
2️⃣ Ask your local pharmacist for advice and treatment for common health issues
3️⃣ Call healthline at 0800 611 116 anytime for free health advice.
If there's a life-threatening emergency, always call 111 for an ambulance 🚑

Alison is one of our amazing volunteer first responders in the Coromandel 🚑
Alison a volunteer Paramedic and has so far given an incredible 26 years of service - bringing with her a lifetime of experience as a nurse, midwife, and First Responder.
As a highly respected and much valued member of the local First Response team. She has mentored and supported countless volunteers, helping them grow from new recruits through to Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics. Her guidance and dedication have played a huge role in building one of the strongest First Response teams in the region.
Congratulations Alison on winning the Bright Star award in our 2026 Time to Shine Volunteering awards.

This past month we were fortunate to add a couple of new ambulances to our fleet gifted by various organisations from around the motu 💛
These include:
1️⃣ We Care Community Trust for Helensville
1️⃣ Grassroots Trust Limited and Greenlea Foundation Trust for Te Awamutu
The generosity of these vehicle donations, together with support from our "Light the Way" Annual Appeal, helps our frontline crews continue delivering the vital health services our communities rely on every day 🚑

Meet 7-year-old Hunter, a recent recipient of our St John in Schools Courage in Action Bravery Award 🏆
After finding his neighbour unresponsive, Hunter quickly got his mum to call 111 for an ambulance, showing how acting fast in an emergency can save a life, and proving that heroes come in all ages 💛
The Harlem Globetrotters came to teach our paramedics a few basketball tricks 🏀
In return, we taught them a lifesaving one... CPR
Now you can be part of the action by bidding on an incredible Harlem Globetrotters VIP experience, including courtside seats, meet and greet, signed shirts, and a signed basketball.
Every bid helps support the Light the Way Annual Appeal, raising funds to build and repair 10 ambulance stations across Aotearoa New Zealand.

Fieldays isn't just about tractors, gumboots and innovation - it's also about the health and wellbeing of rural NZ 🇳🇿
In many rural communities, we are the frontline of the health system with almost 1 in 3 ambulance incidents happening in rural or remote areas 🚑
These communities face unique challenges, including longer travel times and increased vulnerability when weather or geography disrupt access to care.
That's why building community resilience is such an important part of what we do. Whether it's teaching CPR and defibrillator skills, supporting people to stay independent through medical alarms and falls prevention programmes or providing transport to medical appointments through our Waka Ora Health Shuttles - we're helping communities build the knowledge, skills and confidence to respond when it matters most.
