🦒 Look who’s here! Harold has arrived! 🦒
Our Year 7 Life Education sessions kicked off today, and the students were absolutely thrilled to welcome Harold the Giraffe and the mobile classroom to our school!
Over the next few weeks, each Year 7 class will participate in three tailored lessons before the end of the term. Our teachers have specially selected these topics based on the specific needs and dynamics of each classroom to ensure they are highly relevant and impactful.
Today, I caught up with a few of the students after their first session, and they had a blast! They were highly engaged and really enjoyed talking about emotions and friendship.
💬 A quick note for parents who attended our Parenting Seminar last night:
This is a golden opportunity to keep the conversation going at home! The themes covered in Harold's lessons align beautifully with what we discussed last night. Use these sessions as a conversation starter with your child over dinner or in the car - they have plenty of insights to share.

A great turnout for the first of our two parenting seminars this year. Thanks to Kristin from 'The Parenting Place' who provided so many valuable insights into the inner world of our tweens and how parents can build and maintain great relationships with them as they navigate these years.
Unfortunately, due to being their intellectual property we are unable to share the full slide set but we are able to share this two page summary with you.
If you'd like know more about the courses and resources they offer you can find them at https://parentingplace.nz/
Keep an eye out for our second seminar towards the end of term three on 'Tackling Technology.'

There’s nothing we love more than seeing our ex-pupils thriving at high school and these four boys are no exception. They shared their great experiences at Kelston Boys’ High school to our group of Year 8 boys. We’re very proud of how well they are doing. Kelston Boys’ is holding their open night on Thursday July 30th. Check their website for more info.

Today, we were incredibly lucky to welcome acclaimed author Stacy Gregg as part of our Book Week celebrations. With over 35 books published and millions of copies sold worldwide, Stacy captivated our students with fascinating tales of her research travels and stories about her pets. She even had some of our students take the stage to act out scenes from her latest book, The Last Journey. Later in the day, groups of aspiring young writers joined Stacy in the library for some truly inspiring, hands-on writing workshops.
