What a wonderful way to finish Samoa Language Week at Wēteri.

Today we gathered as a school community for a special assembly celebrating Samoan language, culture and identity. We were privileged to welcome Julia Arnott-Neenee and Eteroa Lafaele from Fibre Fale, who shared their stories, experiences and insights with our students. Their messages were inspiring, thought-provoking and engaging, and we are grateful for the gift of copies of Eteroa's book, "Ete Fixes The Glitch".

We were also treated to performances from our WCC students, whose confidence and pride shone through, and it was lovely to have so many whānau join us for the occasion.

Fa'afetai tele lava to everyone who helped make this week such a success. It has been a celebration of language, culture, belonging and community, and a fitting end to a fantastic Samoa Language Week.

Our girls’ CZ Rugby team were lucky enough to be coached by Auckland Blues rugby union representative and one of Melbourne Storm’s up and coming stars, Moonlight Moala.
For those wanting to come along tomorrow and support both our boys and girls teams, we will be at the Avondale Racecourse (22 Elm Street, Avondale) for 9:30am kick off.

A rainy day did not stop us having fun yesterday. We all slept so well last night. The sun is back and we are into our last day of activities.

Our campers are on their way home! Expected just before 3pm. Tired, muddy but happy. Feedback from the staff at C*C was how supportive, positive and organised our adults and young people have been, we are very proud of you all.
