Ni sa bula Vina’a

It is with profound sorrow that we inform our family and friends, here in NZ and overseas of the passing of our hero, Joseva (Joseph) Mai Welagi Davis, who was 91 years old.

He was the devoted husband of Losana and the father of Rosi Daurewa, the late Kelera Naucabalavu, Meresiana Peters, Guy Davis, Sereana Damu, Maria Huni, Leba Davis, Arieta Williams, Joseph (Junior), Mereani, Maika and Joeli Davis. He was also a cherished grandfather and great-grandfather. Our father departed peacefully at home on the evening of August 26, surrounded by his loved ones.

His family will receive visitors at 24 Fisher Crescent, Otara, from the afternoon of Thursday, August 29, until Monday, September 2.

Family Service will be on Sunday at 7pm.

His Requiem Mass will be on Monday 2nd September at 11.30am followed by burial at Manukau Memorial Gardens (Manukau Cemetery), 361 Puhinui Road, Wiri, Auckland 2025.

Both services will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 21 Carruth Road, Papatoetoe, Auckland 2025.

A livestream link will be available for family and friends to join online. We will share the link on social media.

All communications please contact: Rosi Daurewa 021 109 5507 or Leba Davis 021 216 2409.

May Joseph’s humble soul rest in Eternal Peace.

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. Well done good and faithful servant.

A’lougata ei’na loloma levu mai na Matavuvale na Davis.
