Kawakawa Bay Volunteer Fire Brigade are taking up the challenge once again,and pushing themselves out of there comfort zone to climb the Sky Tower at the Skycity Casino Auckland New Zealand to raise much needed funds for Luekimea and Blood cancer research here in New Zealand, a few of our crew had the pleasure of spending some fund-raising time at Auckland Airport with the legend himself Tony Scott better known as Scotty, who has raised millions for this cause over the years by setting up the Firefighter Skytower Challenge.

Thanks to Orere Point Volunteer Fire Brigade, Clevedon Volunteer Fire Brigade, Hunua Volunteer fire brigade, Papakura Volunteer Fire Brigade and Skyworks Helicopters for the assistance on a scrub fire, we were very lucky it did not get alot worse with the winds that day.

March 23rd saw us hosting the Kawakawa Bay kindergarten at our station, where the children put their emergency procedure training into practice. They efficiently made their way to the designated meeting area in response to a simulated fire alarm. The visit was a success, with both the kids and firefighters enjoying the experience of using the high-pressure hose and exploring the truck. We appreciate the kindergarten's visit and are glad to have had the opportunity to host them.
