Shelves Built and Ready for Home!

Our Adjustable Shelf workshop with Felicia was a great afternoon at the Green Space. Participants learned some new woodworking skills and headed home with sturdy shelves ready to use.

After putting everything together, it was time for the finishing touches. Some chose to paint or stain their shelves, while others gave the pine a good sand and oil, bringing out the beautiful natural grain.

A big thanks to Community Matters for supporting this workshop.

We've had a few questions about why some of our workshop prices vary from event to event, so we thought we'd explain. 😊

A big factor is funding. Some venues and community partners are able to contribute additional funding towards workshops, which allows us to offer tickets at a lower price. Other workshops receive less funding, so ticket prices may be a little higher for the exact same workshop.

You'll also notice that weekend workshops often cost a bit more than weekday sessions. That's simply because weekends are our busiest times, and the demand is much higher.

What many people don't realise is that all of our workshops are heavily subsidised. The true cost of running most workshops is often at least three times the ticket price you see. Funding support, grants, donations, and ticket sales all work together to make these opportunities accessible to our community.

Thank you for your support, whānau. We appreciate every ticket purchased and hope to see you at a future workshop. 💚

More than just chopping boards!

Our Kauri Creations workshop with Ellen was full of creativity this week. Alongside some beautiful kauri boards, participants also made a patu and a window hanging.

A reminder that you don't have to make a chopping board at Kauri Creations. If you've got an idea, bring it along and we'll help you create it.

Thanks to Community Matters for supporting these workshops.
