There have been some requests for information about whether visa-free access for New Zealand tourists to Mongolia will continue after the end of this year. We are making inquiries, but our best advice at this time is to assume visa-free access will continue. In any case, visas can be issued on arrival at Chinggis Khaan International Airport. If there is any reason to think New Zealand tourists will again need to get visas before departing to Mongolia, we will let you know here urgently. But, rest assured, Mongolia wants as many New Zealand tourists as possible - and January is a great month for experiencing the Mongolian winter, including riding reindeer with the Dukha people living in the beautiful northern Khuvsgul region.
