The third concert of the series Musical Moments - Children Performing for Children - organised by Austrian Embassy in Muscat together with Mrs. Sara Topolska - Shanfari will take place once again at the Austrian Ambassador's Residence in Muscat on May 22nd 2026.
The children will be playing music of great Austrian composers
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Leopold Mozart, Joseph Haydn, Franz Schubert and Gustav Mahler.

How can museums attract new audiences and build lasting community connections?
This three-day program with Christine Koblitz from Wien Museum explores state-of-the-art approaches for audience engagement and inclusive museum programming. Drawing on examples from Austrian and international museums, participants will gain practical tools to build new community partnerships, create meaningful dialogue and design engaging visitor experiences.
All sessions can be attended independently. The online talk is open to all registered participants, while the workshops on Day 2 and Day 3 are each limited to 15 participants.

A B O U T: Christine Koblitz is Engagement Manager at the Wien Museum and specialises in digital culture, Instagram and games. She curated the exhibition “Takeover – Street Art & Skateboarding” (2019) and develops interactive formats such as the AR escape game “A Shared Secret” at the Clock Museum, the AI live prompting sessions and the monthly Wien Museum Pub Quiz.

How do framing and perspectives shape societal power relations – and how can more inclusive images be created?
This two-day workshop with Austrian cinematographers Astrid Heubrandtner and Volker Gläser is aimed at 12 cinematographers from the region who want to critically expand their own visual language. Through selected film excerpts, participants will explore different framing and perspectives as a tool for more equitable representation of marginalized social groups. The aim is to sharpen awareness of how cinematography can reinforce societal narratives – but also actively transform them.

A B O U T: Astrid Heubrandtner is an Austrian cinematographer working in feature films, documentaries and experimental projects for cinema, television and museums. She has taught at numerous universities and film schools and served as a guest professor of cinematography at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
Volker Gläser is an Austrian cinematographer and Senior Artist for Cinematography at the Film Academy Vienna. His work includes feature and documentary films as well as collaborations with video artists. He has taught at institutions including FH Salzburg, MET Film School Berlin and the Academy of Fine Arts Nuremberg.

٥٠٠ أجولة كبيرة من القهوة – تقول الأسطورة ان الجيش العثماني تركها عند انسحابه عقب حصار فيينا الثاني عام ۱٦٨٣ و يعتقد ان هذا الحدث كان سببا في نشوء تقليد المقاهي في فيينا. و بعد عامين فقط – أي في عام ۱٦٨٥ حصل التاجر الأرمني أوانس استواتزاتور على تصريح من الامبراطورالنمساوي بتقديم القهوة فافتتح ما يعد أول مقهى بمدينة فيينا. و مع بداية القرن العشرين أصبحت المقاهي أماكن حيوية لالتقاء المثقفين و الكتاب و الفنانين مثل جوستاف كليمت و سيجموند فرويد. كانت المقاهي بمثابة غرف معيشة ممتدة حيث كان الناس يجتمعون للنقاش و الكتابة و قراءة الصحف أو لمجرد قضاء الوقت أثناء احتساء القهوة.
وحتى يومنا هذا يظل الجلوس لساعات طويلة في المقهى جزءا أساسيا من حياة سكان فيينا كما تظهر هذه الصورة التي تم التقاطها عام ۱۹٥٢ لمقهى لاندمان الشهير بالعاصمة النمساوية. وفي عام ٢٠۱۱ أدرجت اليونسكو ثقافة المقاهي ضمن قائمة التراث الثقافي غير المادي.
