Embassy of Nepal marks Peace Walk and Beach Cleaning Event in Muscat The Embassy of Nepal in Muscat organised a Peace Walk & Beach Cleaning event to celebrate International Everest Day on 29 May 2026, at the Qurum beach in Muscat.

Press Release on Peace Walk and Beach Cleaning Event, establishment of e-Museum and Celebration of Republic Day

The Embassy of Nepal in Muscat organized a Peace Walk & Beach Cleaning event to celebrate International Everest Day on 29 May 2026, at the Qurum beach in Muscat. The walk was organized along the Qurum beach starting from the backside of W Hotel from 05:00 a.m. Representatives from Non Resident Nepali Social Club/Nepali organizations, interested Nepali and foreign friends participated in the event. As a part of environmental awareness participants actively engaged in beach cleaning.
While speaking after the programme, Ambassador Dornath Aryal expressed gratitude to the participants for active participation. He highlighted the importance of such events in bringing the diaspora together and building up the image of Nepali community in Oman.
The Everest Day coincided with Republic Day of Nepal this year. A special ceremony was also organized at the the Embassy of Nepal, Muscat to mark the Republic Day of Nepal. During the ceremony, Ambassador Aryal hoisted the National Flag of Nepal.
Mr. Aryal formally inaugurated Embassy’s e-Museum by pressing a bottom of the Kiosk Machine. Members of the Nepali community attired in national and traditional dresses attended the events.
Ambassador Aryal highlighted the importance and historical aspects of Republic Day. He underscored the basic features of the constitution and republican system.
While speaking about e-Museum Ambassador Aryal described why he felt the need to establish the e-Museum at the Embassy and hoped that this step will contribute in consolidating the bilateral relations and collecting historical documents and facts . He requested the participants to go through the documents available in the e-Museum and provide their valuable feedback.
Mr. Bishesh Kumar Sah, First Secretary and convenor of e-Museum Establishment Committee highlighted the activities undertaken to collect the information and documents to establish the Museum. He also informed that e-Museum will be available at the Embassy’s website soon.

शान्ति पदयात्रा, समुद्र किनार सरसफाइ कार्यक्रम, ई–संग्रहालयको उद्घाटन तथा गणतन्त्र दिवसको कार्यक्रम सम्बन्धमा प्रेस वक्तव्य

नेपाली राजदूतावास, मस्कटले अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय सगरमाथा दिवसको अवसरमा २९ मे २०२६ मा मस्कटस्थित कुरुम समुद्र तटमा शान्ति पदयात्रा तथा समुद्र किनार सरसफाइ कार्यक्रम आयोजना गर्यो। पदयात्रा बिहान ५:०० बजे W Hotel को पछाडिपट्टीबाट सुरु भई कुरुम समुद्र तटको किनार हुँदै सम्पन्न भएको थियो।

कार्यक्रममा गैरआवासीय नेपाली सोसल क्लब/ नेपाली संघ–संस्थाका प्रतिनिधिहरू र इच्छुक नेपाली र विदेशी नागरिकको उपस्थिति थियो। वातावरण संरक्षणप्रति जनचेतना अभिवृद्धि गर्ने उद्देश्यले सहभागीहरूले समुद्र किनार सरसफाइ कार्य गरेका थिए ।

कार्यक्रमपछि बोल्दै राजदूत डोरनाथ अर्यालले सहभागीहरूलाई सक्रिय सहभागिताका लागि धन्यवाद व्यक्त गर्नुभयो। उहाँले यस्ता कार्यक्रमहरूले नेपाली समुदायबीच एकता र सद्भाव बढाउनुका साथै ओमानमा नेपाली समुदायको सकारात्मक छवि निर्माण गर्न सहयोग पुग्ने बताउनुभयो।

यस वर्ष अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय सगरमाथा दिवस र नेपालको गणतन्त्र दिवस एकै दिन परेकाले सोही अवसरमा नेपाली राजदूतावासमा गणतन्त्र दिवस विशेष कार्यक्रम पनि आयोजना गरिएको थियो। उक्त कार्यक्रममा राजदूत अर्यालले झण्डोत्तोलन गर्नुभयो र सो पश्चात् उक्त कार्यक्रममा बोल्दै उहाँले गणतन्त्र दिवसको ऐतिहासिक पृष्ठभूमि र महत्वबारे प्रकाश पार्नुभयो। उहाँले नेपालको संविधान तथा गणतान्त्रिक शासन व्यवस्थाका प्रमुख विशेषताहरूको पनि चर्चा गर्नुभयो।

सोही अवसरमा राजदूत अर्यालले Kiosk मेसिनको बटन थिचेर राजदूतावासको ई–संग्रहालय (e-Museum) को औपचारिक रूपमा उद्घाटन गर्नुभयो। कार्यक्रममा नेपाली समुदायका सदस्यहरू राष्ट्रिय तथा परम्परागत पोशाकमा सहभागी भएका थिए।

ई–संग्रहालयको बारेमा बोल्दै राजदूत अर्यालले राजदूतावासमा यसको स्थापना आवश्यक ठानिनुको कारण स्पष्ट पार्नुभयो। उहाँले यस पहलले नेपाल ओमान द्विपक्षीय सम्बन्धलाई अझ सुदृढ बनाउन तथा ऐतिहासिक दस्तावेज र तथ्यहरूको संरक्षण एवं संकलनमा योगदान पुर्‍याउने विश्वास व्यक्त गर्नुभयो। साथै, ई–संग्रहालयमा उपलब्ध सामग्रीहरूको अवलोकन गरी सुझाव तथा प्रतिक्रिया दिन सहभागीहरूलाई आग्रह गर्नुभयो।

ई–संग्रहालय स्थापना समितिका संयोजक तथा प्रथम सचिव श्री विशेष कुमार साहले संग्रहालय स्थापना गर्न आवश्यक सूचना, तथ्य र दस्तावेज संकलनका लागि गरिएका प्रयास बारे जानकारी दिनुभयो। उहाँले ई–संग्रहालय छिट्टै राजदूतावासको वेबसाइटमार्फत पनि उपलब्ध गराइने जानकारी पनि दिनुभयो।

आज २४ मे २०२६ (२०८३/०२/१०) को दिन राजदूत डोरनाथ अर्यालले ओमानको परराष्ट्र मन्त्रालयका एशिया तथा प्रशान्त महाशाखा प्रमुख महामहिम Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al Hosni सँग भेट गर्नुभयो। भेटको अवसरमा नेपाल र ओमानबीच द्विपक्षीय हितका समष्टिगत विषयहरुमा विस्तृत छलफल भएको थियो। उक्त बैठकमा ओमानका परराष्ट्र मन्त्रालयका पदाधिकारी तथा राजदूतावासका प्रथम सचिव श्री बिशेष कुमार साह पनि उपस्थित रहनुभएको थियो।

Sagarmatha Day Celebration

The Embassy of Nepal in Muscat organized a tourism promotion event to mark Sagarmatha Day (Mt. Everest Day) on 21 May 2026 at Nepal House, Muscat. The program was organized to commemorate the first successful ascent of Sagarmatha (Mt. Everest) on 29 May 1953 by Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hillary. The program also aimed to promote Nepal’s tourism including mountaineering and adventure tourism. The event was graced by Ms. Nadira Al Harthy, first Omani lady to summit Mt. Everest, mountaineers, hikers, representatives from tourism and travel sectors, media persons, social media influencers and friends of Nepal.
H.E. Dornath Aryal, Ambassador of Nepal to the Sultanate of Oman commenced the formal event by lighting of the traditional Panas lamp. During his address, Ambassador Aryal highlighted the historical significance of Sagarmatha Day and explained Sagarmatha as a symbol of courage and determination. He further stressed the growing global issue of climate change and its impact on the Himalayas as well as Ocean ecosystems. He also informed about the Nepal’s initiative of holding the first edition of “Sagarmatha Sambaad” in 2025 related to Climate Change. Ambassador Aryal also highlighted the beauty of Nepal and explained the easy visa process to visit Nepal. He also urged all the participants to visit Nepal to witness the unparallel beauty and diversity.
During the programme, Ms. Nadira Al Harthy made a presentation to share her experiences on climbing Mt. Everest, and reflections on the natural beauty of Himalayas and Nepal. Furthermore, she encouraged participants to pursue their goals with determination and travel to Himalayas in Nepal to discover oneself.
H.E. the Ambassador honored Ms. Nadira Al Harthy in recognition of her remarkable achievements in mountaineering and contribution to promoting mountain adventure. A promotional video showcasing Nepal’s natural beauty, mountains, culture and tradition was also screened during the event.
Beautiful photo frames reflecting Nepal’s beauty and mountain range were distributed to all the participants. The programme concluded with a Nepali dinner hosted by the Embassy. A tourism promotional presentation reflecting Nepal’s beauty and heritage was displayed throughout the event.
As a part of the celebration of Sagarmatha Day (Mt. Everest Day), early morning Peace Walk and Beach cleaning event has been scheduled on 29 May 2026 at Qurum Beach. The event will begin in back of W Hotel and run from 05:00 to 05:45 hours. The Ambassador informed about the event and requested all the participants to join.

Ambassador Dornath Aryal received His Excellency H.E. Mohamed Irzan Djohan, Ambassador of Indonesia to the Sultanate of Oman at the Embassy today. The Ambassadors exchanged views on various matters of mutual interests.
