Apag III and the Philippine Technological Council met with officials of Oman's Ministry of Labor and Ministry of Education to discuss educational credential recognition, qualifications equivalency, and professional mobility for Filipino graduates and workers. The discussions highlighted the Philippines' quality assurance and verification systems, as well as opportunities to align Philippine and Omani qualifications frameworks and streamline credential recognition processes. Both sides expressed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in education, skills development, and workforce mobility between the Philippines and Oman. π΅ππ€π΄π²

Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Commissioner Dr. Desiderio R. Apag III, Philippine Technological Council (PTC) Chairperson Engr. Romulo L. Agatep, and members of the Filipino engineering community paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Noralyn Jubaira Baja at the Philippine Embassy in Muscat.
The delegation shared updates on initiatives aimed at strengthening the international recognition and mobility of Filipino engineers, including efforts to benchmark the Oman Qualifications Framework and the Philippine Qualifications Framework. Discussions also highlighted the ASEAN Engineer Registry (AER), which now has more than 16,000 registered ASEAN Engineers, with over 5,000 Filipinos among its members.
The Embassy commends the engineering community for its continued efforts to promote professional excellence, regional cooperation, and the global competitiveness of Filipino engineers.

The Philippine Embassy attended the ASEAN Engineer Registry (AER) Conferment Ceremony on 30 May 2026, celebrating the achievements of 18 Filipino engineers who were conferred into the ASEAN Engineer Registry. The honorees included engineers based in Oman and those currently practicing their profession in Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States.
The ceremony was graced by CHED Commissioner Dr. Desiderio R. Apag III, Philippine Technological Council (PTC) Chairperson Engr. Romulo L. Agatep, and ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organizations (AFEO) President Engr. Simon Yeong Chin Chow.
