My Journey To Finding a Home Birth Midwife

Was a crazy one! Every time I felt set in my decision, the universe said "Nope!" Different circumstances shifted my path, and each time was an opportunity to trust that everything would be okay. If you put me through these situations a few years ago, I would've been filled with anxiety. But I've grown so much in the past few years, that this time I *100%* believed that...

..there are no mistakes
..every new direction is intentional
..I am not in control (and don't have to be)
..I can enjoy the ride and remain open
..the best path will present itself

When I found out that my previous midwife was unable to make it around week 33, I didn't fight it. I accepted that whatever will happen, will happen, and even considered birthing my own baby at home (which I would still feel okay with at this moment!).

ONE day later, a friend (who I've never met in person) shared the contact of an indigenous midwife. She doesn't advertise and takes only 1 birth a month. I got to meet her this past weekend and am so happy with her. I wasn't actively looking for her or searching out of fear. I sat back, and the universe brought us together.

Even in pregnancy, the universe reinforced some lessons to me. Be open and don't make decisions in fear. Everything will be okay. When you trust, it is truly amazing how answers just FIND you. It's something I didn't believe until I experienced it myself over and over again. It's a beautiful thing and something I'll pass along to my baby girl 👶🏻
