Q2 Highlights

One of the most rewarding aspects of developing our people is meeting them where they are—in remote, rural PNG—doing what they do best, often without recognition.

Twenty-one leaders in the health sector from the Burnet Institute and partner organizations participated in ICT Cluster’s two-day Leadership Intelligence (LI) training program. The initiative focuses on building essential capabilities in critical thinking, problem-solving, data analytics, and digital technology, including AI. We were honored to reach our people once again in Qtr. 2 by delivering the program on Daru Island in Western Province as our third cohort, bringing the total number of participants trained to 63.

Throughout the training, the team learnt core leadership traits, governance, effective communication, and active listening skills. They also identified and developed their unique Employee Value Propositions (EVPs) as talented professionals dedicated to serving their organizations and improving health services across Western Province.

Just as important is seeing our participants gain the confidence to advance in their careers and everyday roles. Participants from prior cohorts shared how their journeys have supported career developments including promotion, as well as a deeper understanding of how to lead and solve problems within their local communities.

We recall a statement from one of the cohort - "What is your unique value proposition statement? - 'My VP is to protect the next generation from harm by encouraging better health care service, awareness and education."
