This weekend today and tomorrow

RUGBY 7’s - Rosso Trans-Highway 7s

This weekend sees the exciting and heavily contested Twenty-four Open Men’s teams will converge on SCRUM Oval from Friday for the Rosso Trans-Highway 7s, with K50,000 and the Transhighway Cup at stake with magnificent carved trophies for the winning male and female team.

The travelling field also includes Tomaringa Royals, West New Britain's Kimbe Rebels, Bougainville rivals Hangan Pirates, Kinabot Piggies, Patuki Warriors, Gerehu Natives, Newtown Chiefs, Galilo Tati Bards, Goroka Kingsmen, Goroka, Rabaul Stallions Harlequins, Black Orchids of Bougainville and Gonix Pirates. Needless to say, they are coming from everywhere to play, contest and have fun.

Morobe's challenge features Irok Pirates, Lae Harlequins, DYY Spartans, Unitech Reds, Chemcare Defence, JKT LIM East Taraka Vikings, ESS/Dekenai Tent City Lights, Tararan Sagasek, Malac Wanderers and Kabrats and Papuan Compound Ravens

Continuing today Satuday 26th and concluding Sunday 27th, at the SCRUM OVAL, Morobe Showgrounds – check it out.

**PUBLIC NOTICE: Lae Temporary Main Market Closure**

Please be advised that the Lae Temporary Main Market will be closed on Thursday, 23rd July 2026**, in observance of National Remembrance Day.

Normal operations will resume on Friday, 24th July 2026.

All vendors, residents, and business houses are kindly asked to take note and make advance arrangements accordingly.

📢 TRAFFIC ADVISORY📢

Construction for the new 6-lane concrete road from snack bar roundabout to the old airport will commence and this will result in a full closure of the area starting 13th July 2026 for approximately 2 weeks for the pipe culvert to be installed.

Important Travel Info:
• No Through Traffic: The construction area is completely closed to all vehicles and pedestrians; please follow the marked detours.
• Business Access: Businesses remain open, but you must access them via the Markham Road roundabout.
• No Access: Entry from the Milford Haven Road roundabout is not possible.
• Compliance: Traffic officers will be present to manage the area.
Please plan your route accordingly and follow all traffic instructions.

*Road Block - Milfordhaven Road - Sat 27th, Sun 28th*

Please be advised of the second weekend of Rosso Mountain Bike Race and a section of Milfordhaven being Blocked to vehicle traffic

Riders will exit onto Milfordhaven Road from the Gardens at Scout Hall and ride to the Gardens Main Entrance at Fire Station and continue the course inside.

*A roadblock will be set up on Milfordhaven Road at Scout Hall Roundabout and at Kwila Road.*

The Orange line show the blockade which allows ease of traffic around the City

This will allow continuos heats and finals to run without interruption and with safety

This will only be for the *13- 15yo Male and Female Riders* Saturday and Sunday

This small section of Milfordhaven will be blocked off *between 12.30 to 4.30pm* subject to the age group heats starting time on *Sat 27th and Sun 28th*
