Young carers featured in Wantok Niuspepa🇵🇬
🙏Thank you to Wantok Niuspepa for featuring the inspiring story of four young carers; Damien, David, Donita and Delta in its 29th October 2026 publication🙏
❤️These remarkable children stood by their mother, Mathilda, throughout her tongue cancer journey, taking on responsibilities beyond their years while balancing school and family life.
Through this story, Help for Carers and Cancer Patients PNG Inc. hopes to raise greater awareness of the important yet often overlooked role of young carers in Papua New Guinea.

𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗰 𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀🫀: 𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄?

𝗔𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘃𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 occurs when a leaking aortic valve allows blood to flow backward into the heart instead of forward through the body.

This serious valve condition is frequently seen in PNG patients living with advanced Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD), a preventable disease that continues to affect many of our communities.

Understanding cardiac conditions is the first step towards better heart health.

Mr. Homolpi is battling advanced prostate cancer, which has spread to his spine and lungs. He urgently needs specialised cancer treatment in India.
Mr. Warom is the father of one of PNG's dedicated radiation oncology doctors, who helps cancer patients in their own fight against this disease🙏 Today, his own father needs our compassion and support😔❤️
