As growing workplace pressure and emotional stress continue to affect healthcare workers across the province, Western Highlands Provincial Health Authority (WHPHA) staff are being urged to put their own health and wellbeing first.
To mark the International Labour Organization’s World Day for Safety and Health at Work, the WHPHA conducted a workplace safety and wellbeing training for staff in Mt Hagen, focusing on mental health, stress management, and workplace safety.

Incorrect positions can lead to incorrect readings.
✔ Sit with your back supported
✔ Legs uncrossed and feet flat on the floor
✔ Arm supported with the cuff at heart level
✔ Use correct cuff size
✔ Rest for at least 5 minutes before the reading
✔ Do not talk during or between measurements
✔ Avoid exercise, tea/coffee, and smoking for at least 30 minutes before reading
