This PCAARRD farm primer introduces three traditional recipes, chevon kaldereta, adobo, and kilawin. The original recipes were enhanced and the nutritional values studied to ensure that each is a healthy alternative to the traditional one. Canning procedures were also enhanced.

The United Kingdom textile brand Ananas Anam, makers and distributors of Piñatex™, presented their products to Secretary Emmanuel F. Piñol and Undersecretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat on December 7, 2016 after a short meeting where they expressed their interest to buy more pineapple leaves from suppliers in the Philippines. Currently, farmers from Camarines Norte supply the raw materials for Pinatex products. Piñol assured the company that with enough supply of pineapples in the Philippines particularly from the farmers of Mindanao, leaves can be easily outsourced.
