Menro-Abucay

On March 7, 2026, the Municipal Government of Abucay through its Designated MENRO conducted a mangrove planting activity along the Calaylayan-Wawa coastal area in participation of resident fisherfolks. This annual planting activity aims to assist in the natural regeneration and reproduction of mangroves to strengthen the coastal defense against the impacts of climate change, provide breeding grounds to different wildlife species and strengthen the collaboration between the local government and community.

The Municipal Government of Abucay through its MENRO, conducted information, education and communication (IEC) activity at Capitangan Elementary School. The IEC conducted by Mr. Roger Guanzon (Environmental Management Researcher), focused on the proper solid waste management (segregation, diversion and disposal) to strengthen the students' knowledge and capacity leading to a cleaner and healthy community.

Bilang pakikiisa sa taunang International Coastal Clean-up (ICC2025), ang Bayan ng Abucay ay muling nagpakita ng aktibo at makabuluhang partisipasyon sa paglilinis ng coastal areas, pampublikong lugar at kailugan sa mga nasasakupan nito.

Sa pangunguna ng mga lokal na opisyal, empleyado, uniformed personnel, mga residente at iba pang nag-boluntaryo, naging matagumpay ang nasabing aktibidad.

From the Municipal Government of Abucay, the Designated MENRO conducted of Barangay Orientation on Waste Analysis and Characterization Study (WACS).

The orientation was divided into two (2) parts; powerpoint presentation about WACS and Q&A about the needs and process prior to the conduct of study. This will also serve as basis of plans and programs identification and implementation.
