ABUYOG, LEYTE โ Abuyog Community College (ACC) has taken a bold leap onto the international stage, earning global recognition as it participated for the first time in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2026.
Among more than 13,000 universities worldwide, ACC proudly secured a spot in the Top 100 under the Curricular Innovation for Future-Readiness (C3) category, ranking 95th placeโa remarkable feat for a first-time participant.
Further highlighting its innovation-driven initiatives, ACC recorded two ranked entries under the same category:
Abuyog Community College Digital CareerLink: Job Placement, Alumni Tracking, and Employment Partnership Program from the ACC Job Placement Office
Project DUYAN of the College of Arts, Sciences and Education
Out of six total submissions, two made it to the rankingsโdemonstrating the institutionโs growing capacity to deliver programs that respond to real-world needs and future workforce demands.
โThis achievement reflects our commitment to innovation and meaningful impact,โ said Ms. Dulce Amor C. Cutura, International Affairs and Linkages Coordinator. โWhile we may not have entered the Top 500 Most Innovative Universities and Colleges, we remain proud and grateful for this milestone. This is only the beginning.โ
The college attributes its success to the unwavering support of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Abuyog, led by Hon. Mayor Lemuel Gin K. Traya, whose leadership continues to empower educational advancement in the community.
Anchored in its core valuesโExcellence, Competence, Accountability, Resilience, Environmental Responsiveness, and Service OrientationโACC continues to strengthen its academic programs and institutional initiatives to better serve its students and stakeholders.
This global milestone also builds upon ACCโs commitment to internationalization, which was further strengthened through its participation in the FLAIR Masterclass (Filipino Leaders in Advancing International Reputation) held on October 21โ23, 2025, at Ironwood Hotel in Tacloban City, organized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office VIII.
Representing ACC were Ms. Cutura and Mr. Ritche Deloria, Executive Assistant under the Office of the President, both members of the Maanyag Class of 2025. The learnings from the masterclass were echoed during a re-echo session held on October 30, 2025, at the ACC Business Incubation Facility, attended by administrators, unit heads, and coordinators.
With the rallying cry, โNever Tired, Never WURIed,โ ACC embraces the spirit of resilience and continuous improvement as it sets its sights on the WURI 2027 Rankings, aiming to complete submissions across all 24 categories.
โMaraming salamat po sa suporta,โ Cutura added. โTogether, let us aim higher.โ
As ACC continues its journey, one thing is clear: even small institutions can make a big impactโlocally and globally.
Mabuhay, ACC!
