HON. ROLDAN C. SAGLES
TURN-OVER AND OATH TAKING CEREMONY

To the very able judge, Hon. Claro Carpizo, comrades in the name of public service, newly elected and re-elected Municipal Officials of this humble town, well-grounded barangay officials – the Punong Barangays, Liga ng mga Barangay President, PB Betty O. Ballesteros and Sangguniang Kabataan Federation President, Juben D. Sarzaba, all members of the 16 Barangay Councils down to all the Barangay Health Workers and Civilian Volunteer Officers, compeer in rendering the best care and service to Aguilareños – the dedicated Local Government Unit department and section heads, employees and job order personnel, Municipal Loca l Government Operations Officer Mr. Norberto L. Macaraeg, Jr., stalwart officers of the Aguilar Police Station led by PMAJ Reinweck S Alamay, committed ladies and gents of the Aguilar Fire Station headed by SFO4 Jingle O. Toledo, selfless educators both from private and public schools headed by Dr. Rufo dela Cruz, beloved senior citizens, brothers and sisters in different religious groups, precious members of the Indigenous Community, youths, Non-Government Organizations, atateng ko, agaguik , amigo, pinablik ya Aguilareño --- Maabig ya agew ed sikatayon amin!

The view of fellow public servants before me is a view of this town’s hope, progress and future. As a public servant and a son of this beautiful town, I have always believed that the opportunity to lead a community is a destiny; hence the chance to occupy a seat in the government is a choice.

Let me take this juncture to extend my greetings to Mayor-elect Kristal B. Soriano and all the newly-elected and re-elected members of the Sanggunian. My kind prayers are with you in delivering the best service Aguilareños deserve. I fervently hope and pray that the coming administration will continue the plans and humble beginnings we have set forth. I am passing the headship of this town with 101% assurance that all the accountabilities, be it technical, legal and physical matters and equipment, are all in good condition.

Technically speaking today is my last day as the Local Chief Executive of this town. From this day forward, I am no longer a public servant, a government official, a person in authority. But in my heart – sayan agui tan amigo yo – will remain one with the Aguilareños and Aguilar. I may no longer hold the title of a leader, but the follower, dreamer, action-doer and Aguilareño in me will remain. Ako parin si Dok Boyet na walang pagdadalawang isip na nagbabahagi ng kasanayan at serbisyong dental. Ako parin si pare/ninong/kuya Boyet na may bukas na pusong nakikinig sa inyong mga suliranin. Siyak ni si Boyet ya agui, ama, amigo tan kabaleyan yo. Say panangaro tan panangampupok ed sayan baley et ag nabawasan tan ag manguman anggad kapigan.

I firmly believe that serving the people and committing your heart to the community is a choice and a vow to put into life – from day 1.

Behind all the projects my administration initiated, started and finished are my silent inspirations – the farmers, the fisherfolks, the vendors, the solo parents, the tricycle and padyak drivers, the working students, the indigenous people, the differently abled, the senior citizens, the LGBTQ+ community, the resilient fathers and devoted mothers, those who put their full trust in my hands and believed in the love and dreams I have for this town. As I step back from the seat, I carry with me a heart full of happiness, fulfillment, optimism and confidence. I am with enormous hopes that the service my administration bestowed – a selfless, credible, and real-time actions administration- shall be continued. I am more than humbled to pass on this office to my successor with confidence that I gave all the best I can and gave the right service each Aguilareño deserve.

Mula sa pagbibigay ng bagong mukha sa ating plaza, sa mga di mabilang na concrete pavings, construction ng farm-to-market roads, installation of solar-powered streetlights, construction of COVID-19 facility, pagbili ng bagong ambulansya, mga bagong multi-purpose vehicle para sa 16 na barangay, mas malaki at makabagong fire truck at 10-wheeler dump truck, MDRRMO emergency response vehicle, bagong Police Patrol at marami pang iba. I also remained true to my words and put them into action. Isa sa mga pangakong binitawan ko noong panahon ng aking kampanya ay ang alagaan ang mga kababayan nating tricycle at padyak drivers. Enero 2020, ibinalik ko po ang nagastos nila para sa Mayor’s Permit at prangkisa ng mga tricycle at padyak – mula po sa sarili kong bulsa ang pagrefund na ito. Naka-programa narin po ang aming ipinangakong financial assistance sa ating mga tricycle drivers. Marahil, kaakibat na ng pangalang SAGLES at Boyet Sagles ang Libreng Sakay, Libreng Bunot at Gamot, Libreng Panambak, Libreng Gripo at marami pa sa puso ng bawat Aguilareño.

My adoration for this town is a choice and a vow I have and will always put into life from day 1 until my last.

My public service journey for almost three (3) decades in this town is the best pages of my life. I will always be grateful to everyone who has been one with me and in realizing my visions in this journey.

I thank and glorify God for giving me this purpose-driven opportunity to serve His people. For the last 2 years, I am in total awe of the physical and emotional strength He’s giving me. Maging sa oras na ito, isa paring malaking pagpapala at milagro para saakin ang kakayahang makapasok sa opisina at magampanan ang aking tungkulin bilang ama ng bayang ito sa kabila ng aking karamdaman. Perhaps, God knows exactly what’s in my heart that He fills my body with strength to fulfill my responsibilities to you all.

I appreciate everyone who genuinely helped me bring Aguilareños comfort and good service, from the Local and Barangay officials, down to the department and section heads, employees, all the Job Order personnel, my mayor’s office staff – especially those who have been working with me during my vice-mayoralty period, my supporters, my prayer warriors, to my family, my children, especially to my eldest and private secretary, Smile, thank you for standing by my side and choosing to journey with me, to Moy, Ning, Cielo and Noy, salamat for the love and support, to my Tiya Anna and Mommy Naty, my sisters Rona and Boots, to my in-laws, Papa Raymundo and Mama Perla, thank you for your unconditional love and support, to my wife, Inovilla Mararac Sagles - ikaw ang kasama ko mula simula, ikaw ang katuwang ko sa mga mabubuting gawa para sa ating pinakamamahal na Aguilar, this time ako naman ang sasama sayo para mabigyan ng buong panahon ang ating tahanan at mga anak.

Aguilar, you are worthy of all the love, pride, protection, and peace you're being showered now. I am one happy Aguilareño to have given a chance to extend a hand in making you the celebrated town you are today.

Aguilar, minahal kita sa aking kalakasan at sa panahon ng iyong kahungkagan. Pinuspos kita ng ng pagibig at binuhos ko ang aking limitadong lakas sa panahon ng aking kahinaan. Wala sa mga panahong ito ang aking pinanghinayangan. At hindi ako mag-ngingiming mahalin ka pa rin gaano man kahirap ang sitwasyon at kadaya ang panahon. Mamahalin kita ako man si Mayor Boyet, si Dok Boyet o isang pribadong mamamayang Boyet. Aguilar, mananatili kitang mahal.

Siyak si Mayor Roldan “Boyet” C. Sagles, malinis tan magter ya nanlingkor ed sikayo.
