Ajuy-Iloilo - The National Service Training Program (NSTP) Office of Northern Iloilo State University โ Ajuy Campus successfully culminated its Second Semester Regular Instruction through a meaningful program featuring the sharing of community extension experiences of CWTS and LTS students.
Held this Saturday, the activity served as a platform for students to reflect on their accomplishments, challenges, and meaningful learnings gained during their community extension implementations conducted last March and April 2026. The extension activities completed the required 36 hours of implementation and community immersion across the municipalities of Ajuy, Sara, Concepcion, and San Dionisio.
A total of 15 CWTS groups and 13 LTS groups actively participated in the implementation of various community-based initiatives focusing on education, environmental awareness, health promotion, disaster preparedness, leadership development, and livelihood programs. During the sharing session, group leaders presented their experiences and highlighted the importance of volunteerism, teamwork, and civic responsibility in serving communities.
The program was spearheaded by Dr. Jay F. Falgne, NSTP Coordinator, together with Br. Louige Banas, NSTP CWTS Implementer, Mr. Ricardo Capacio, NSTP CWTS Implementer, Mr. Marcos Alegre, NSTP Training Staff, and Mr. Charles D. Arnillo, NSRC Chairperson and NSTP Secretariat.
Also present during the activity was the Society of Civic Education Students (SCES), including its service-oriented initiative โServe and Spark,โ headed by Ms. Gwen Valdrama, SCES Premier, in support of the NSTP community engagement initiatives.
The culmination program served not only as the conclusion of the regular instruction but also as a celebration of the studentsโ dedication and commitment to service and nation-building. Through the sharing of experiences, students were reminded that NSTP extends beyond classroom instruction by developing leadership, social awareness, compassion, and active citizenship among the youth.
Furthermore, the NSTP community extension initiatives support several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 15 (Life on Land), and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions).
As the second semester officially concludes, the NSTP Office of Northern Iloilo State University โ Ajuy Campus continues to uphold its commitment to producing socially responsible, service-oriented, and community-driven students dedicated to nation-building and sustainable development.
